When setting up my dampers should i use harder springs/thicker oil for front shocks and softer springs/lighter oil for the rear? i have a bottle of 40wt and 60wt oil and the tamiya on road tuned hard spring set, including the white 'extra stiff' spring.

I've noticed many people have set up their cars with the blue springs at the rear, and the whites up front, does this help the weight transfer through corners?

Any help appreciated,

Chris.[:)]

*generally* [:D]

Stiffer springs on the front gives more steering, reduces weight transfer.

Softer springs at rear gives more grip = better stability.

The softer spring you can use the more grip you'll get. It is best

to usually start from a mid point eg Tamiya yellow then work from

there. Try it with same springs all round first.

If your track is very smooth then you can use stiffer oils/springs.

Usually the 2 goes together too.

At end of the day, experiment until you find a handling that suits

your driving style, and gives the best laptimes.

Cars running at different speeds could also have different settings.

But to keep things simpler, I prefer to stick in the most powerful

motor and run the car as fast as possible... nothing like a fast

overpowered car to show up defects in handling.

Then when thr 540 goes back in... one just about falls asleep. [:I]
