Ok guys, when looking into hop-ups, what are essentials to have. Of course there are the bearings, stabilizers, springs, and heat sink, but what are some other go fast, or tuner options good to have. Looking to get some hop-ups for my new TA04. Mainly for screwing around on weekends at the Tamiya track, and a few club races through the year, so what would help me keep up. Keep it to tamiya parts rather than motors and batteries. Going by Tamiya rules as well. Thanks!

Get the TRF shocks is a must. Fully adjustable and they are awesome. I got the low friction belts but I haven't been able to install them to see how they run. What body shell u running? I ran the Audi TT for a while and then switched to the toyota MR-S and that made a huge difference. Get ball diffs for front and rear.

Well I have a few to choose from since I ran a TA03 for a while. I have the CLK GTR, The Mugen NSX, a Lexus IS, and a Cliff Opel but I am not sure what I am running yet. I read that the Mugen was a good pick for overall balance. As I said, I was mainly going to run for fun so I am not looking to spend a ton of money on this. I have the old low friction shocks I was gonna use for temp since I figure they are still pretty good.

I don;t think there are many hop-ups really essential fora TA-04. Only full ball bearings but only few version didn't some with a full set.

Be aware, to use the Tamiya Audi TT and Toyota MR-S bodies, you need to have the short wheelbased version of the TA-04. You can convert from normal or short wheelbase by changing the rear suspension arms.

The hop-ups you have mentioned should be sufficient, really. Also TA-03 gold dampers are good enough, not worth it gettign TRF ones if you have those laying about! I am also using them actually... Not to mention the stock units work very good already, especially after you put in red or trnasparant O-rings...

I don't know what varierty TA-04 you are starting out with though? The TA-04, S, SS, R, Pro, TRF, TA-you-name-it? Because on most versions you already get some sweet hop-up stuff. [8D]

Well right now I am looking for either an 04, or an 04-R. I am not sure what the S comes with. Just looking for a good deal and I will go from their. If you have a suggestion for kinda what I am looking to do, please feel free to put it out their. Like I said, I am kinda open to everything right now, and I will go from there.

I'm looking at getting some hop ups for my TA04S. From what I've heard, these ones are great:

53458 TA04 RACING HUB CARRIER SET - Gives you extra support for the front hub carrier, making the front end stiffer

0013400153478,TAMIYA,,2200yen,53478 TA04 ALUMINUM RACING STEERING SET - I was told this gets rid of the slack in the steering

I'm also getting a front stabiliser bar set for my car, aluminium ball ends and a couple of other things (already have aluminium shocks).

The alluminium steering will not relly avoid paly, the stock parts can also be fitted with ball bearings, which is good enough. The allu parts will take away a bit flew that the plastic parts have, but that never really bothered me driving my TA-04. [8D]

Go for the "R" version. You´ll save a lot of $$$ on hop-ups. Good tyres are always a nice addition (the stock ones in the normal TA04 are too slick IMO).
