Torque splitter

Can someone explain to me exactly what a torque splitter does and how many you need if you want to fit it to a Tamiya Dirt Thrasher.

The torque splitter is actually a one-way bearing that affects the front gearbox (most other manufacturers call it a centre one-way).

It'll give a touch more steering on grippy surfaces, and a little more straight line efficiency, but the downside is you will lose all braking on the front wheels, so it's not good for stability on low-grip surfaces.

More a tuning option for racers, not an essential upgrade. You only need to buy one set.
