Need a little help (hopefully only a little help). Have a TA02 running w LRP F-1 F/R esc and Fut Rcvr/Tx, Orion 19T motor....Power and run time is great in forward and reverse but the motor stalls intermittantly in forward and the only way to bring back power is to cycle to reverse. Steering exhibits no stalling at all..

I've checked all electrical connections, replaced TX batteries, and the drivetrain feels and sounds smooth

Any ideas I can try?

Thanks in advance,

Ron

it varies but around 15-20 seconds sometimes, otherwise not for a minute....and never a problem from running in reverse

Sounds like a hung brush in the motor, they can do weird things like that sometimes. Check & clean, make sure they are in good condition and slides smoothly in their hoods.

If the protection on your ESC is cutting in then the usual reason is that the motor is over due for some maintenance, especially a comm skim, or as Willy says a brush may be sticking. A strip down and inspection is the first step.

If only 15-20 seconds, may it not be that the esc is running in reverse. LRP's have a cut out in reverse only allowing a short time backwards.... could it not be possible that motor been wired backwards?

exactly what it was...reversed the motor wires, (then switched the TX throttle direction switch) and now everything is running well again.

Thanks for the quick help, what a great resource this board is (the members!) to have.
