Hey ya'all

Iam finally of to buy a GOOD R/C car [:D],

It would be the TT-01 Porsche carrera GT,

Is it a good car? I heard it goes like 40 / 45 km/h. Iam used to cars like 30 km/h so its no problem...

But the battery Takes 8 hours to get full, I can buy a Faster one, but its costs more, is it worth it?

Got another question for ya: Does it really rides diffirent(the car) when u ajust or buy new suspension? And does other tires (slicks, rally, etc.) make anny diffirance?

Iam Very exited to buy the car... [;)]

I'll keep y a posted bout it

The tt-01 is a very good begginers cars, but I seriously doubt it'd go more than 25 km/h, though, in stock form.

A good fast charger is always a good investment. There a economic ones made by Hobbico, Duratrax and others. Run you about US$25. Your batterys will be better taken of than with an overnight charger.

Yes, tyres do make a considerable difference, but it all depends where your runnign them. Tyres in most Tamiya kits are made to last and afford only average grip because they are made of hard instead of softer natural rubbers.

25 km/h? Well, In the shop are tamiya's quick drive, 80 euro's (1 euro is some more then 1 dollar). I think they go 25 km/h. My old nikko did go around 30 km/h, so i think that if a car costs the double (more), i should go faster + in the tamiya booklet from the new cars and stuff, it says summit like al the cars normally go 35/40.

The car iam gonna buy has an RS-540 engine, i dunnow the speed of that.

Oh and 1 more question: if i go with full speed (lets say that its like 35/40 km/h) And i suddenly take a sharp turn, does the car roll over?

Oh and btw, another question: if the "track" (road) isn't dry but a bit wet (no puddles) is it bad for the car to drive or is it resistand against a little watter

Well i finnaly bought it, and i like it!!

It might not be the fastest but compared to the nikko... The handeling: fabulous, nice body, i really luv it.

Got a feeling iam gonna keep dis car for a long while...

Can i close this tropic?

Electric touring cars easilly clock well over 50km/h with a 12 turn modified motor. But the TT01 out of the box is 25km/h. You can adjust the gearing for a higher top speed or acceleration. the RS540 isn't good motor, but its ok i guess to start with. If the car is set up properly, you could easilly go full speed and turn without the car rolling, all the car should do is understeer. The TT01 is a good begginers car, easilly hopped up and with a fast motor easilly 40-45km/h. Hope this info helps. but theres more to R/C cars than speed.

Thanks

Good info, if i wanna "hop it up" with a engine... howmuch am i lookin at, i mean i dont wanna let it go like 80 km/h allready, but summit u said, 40 or 35, 45 summit like that (summit mean sumthing BTW). Please tell me the prize in EURO's if thats possible, thanx.

The car does go 25 km/h i fink, A friend of mine has a nikko r/c evolultion with sprintmotor which goes allso 25 km/h, i beated him because of the soooooo much better stearing of the tamiya (and 4wd [}:)])

And is it true that if i wanna ride in reverse that is should tap the controll twice ( i mean the throttle ) because if i dont it wont drive backwards.... :) thanx

For hop-ups, I woudl suggest a set of ball-bearings ('kogellagers') and oil filled dampers ('oliedempers') - the CVA's from Tamiya, as used on TA-03, TA-04, TB-01 etc. would be just fine. Also for a TT-01 get the aluminium proppellor shaft (centrale aandrijfas).

Then I would look into a better motor, I woudl suggest something 19 turns to start out with. A Peak Jaguar 19x2 woudl be just fine. You can also choose lower and higher turns - lots of choise in variations with this motor. They have replaceable brushes, dual ball bearings, are rebuildable, have adjustable timing - even if you don't knwo waht that all means - it's a good thing! It means you can tuen the motor for more runtime or more performance, and you can maintain it by cleaning and replacing worn parts. [;)]

You will need to buy a ESC ('elektronische vaartregelaar') as well then. Carson makes good, cheap waterproof ones that will fullfill your need, I woudl go for a Speed 15, Speed 11 or a Speed Max.

I hope this helps! [8D]

Thanx for the information, i think iam gonna buy some batterypacks first, and a quick charger, But does new dampers really makes it faster?? because my first aim is the speed, well, accept for the battery's then... I'll search around the web some more about those parts... :)

Your first aim should be the handling. A fast car might be good but if you come to a corner and the car rolls, of skids and craches the damage could be terminal and expensive. Invest in good dampers and a few hop ups parts to make it handle btter first. A good alround motor like suggested would be a 19 turn motor, quick enough for now.

Thanks

Fanks for the info,u maybe right bout the handeling, because sometimes its slippin away, About scratches on the body, i allready have a few [V], It flipped twice allready [:(]

The paint is on the inside, whot can i do about the scratshes, maybe get rid of em by using paper with kinda sand on in (dunnow how its called in english Dutch: Schuurpapier).

But i need to get better at driving too so...

**I have a problem:

When the car is somewhat far away from me, but not out of range, and i let go of the throttle and steering, It goes and drive (steer) on its own, I have to steer it another way or drive backwards too stop it.... annyone can help me??? Or should i OPEN a new tropic????

that happens to me too it's gone out of range. just extend the arial

for light scratches you can use T-cut (cutting paste that is used on motorcar paint after painting it has fine grit in it) for deeper ones 800grit sandpaper (Schuurpapier). the cutting paste.

That sounds as if you are picking up interference from something...try getting another fequenzy for the car and see if the problem persists...
