You want extreme, you got it:

Try mating a 50 tooth 0.4 pinion with a 128 tooth 0.4 spur gear.

Your TA04 will accelerate slowly but the top end will be fantastic.

After two battery packs, kiss your ESC and motor goodbye.

I'm running a 19 turn chamelion 2 pro with a spur of 120 and a pinion of 40. It rockets around very nicely at my indoor club. I can now over take people on the straights and still have enough go juice in the corners. Who would have ever thought that those little pieces of paper with the gear ratio's would have been useful?

Hot mod motors make the most power when they are allowed to rev.

Bogging it down with overgearing will kill the motor fast, unless you're only doing high speed trials at a velodrome.

That said, 128/50 * 32/15 = 5.46:1 ratio isn't skyhigh.

Can do worse with a smaller spur gear.

Not sure if 128/50 will fit either... might not have enough room.

OSorry, my bad.

The 50t pinion will only fit the TA04 with a 112 tooth spur gear, nothing bigger.

Every motor Ive tried with this combination gets extremely hot after a couple of runs, specially the battery. Needles to say, the top end is very impressive.

Hot mod motors (10t & less) require frequent rebuilding, sometimes even by their 2nd run the performance is already fading.

V2 Orions are quite impressive but! [^]
