Do these things use a male/female connector or use a universal one to connect themselves?

Just bought a pack of 20 but cant find the way to connect them properly.

Powerpoles are universal, they connect to themselves. They will not stay together until the contacts have been inserted. Solder the contacts onto the wires, first tin the bare wire, fit the connector over the wire and heat with the iron until the solder melts. You can feed more solder in if necessary.

Look inside the plastic block and you should see how the contact lines up. Push the contact into the block until it snaps into place. If the contact does not push all the way in make sure you have not left any solder on the outside of the contact. Job done, repeat as necessary.

The individual blocks will now connect together and stay connected. If you are using stick packs slide the two connectors together to make a complete plug, and do the same for your speed controller and charger making sure they are the right way round. This is not necessary but it makes sure you cannot plug your batteries in the wrong way round by accident.
