Karl, thats more than likely what i will do. and im going to mix red paint in it so the markers are red.

What you could also do is to cut up some stiff metal such as wire coat hanger and place them into the plaster of paris mix. This of how concrete is laid and how some building structures are made. They have thick steel rods to add strength. If you're going to be moving this stuff around, a extra bit of strength may prolong the life of your markers. Just an idea!
