I am very keen to try on the tour car(TB or TG) series. What of the following had more wear and tear, what is the most common part that need replacement?

While I can't tell you what wears the most on each chassis, you'll find nitro cars need a lot more maintenence than electrrics in general.

i myself dont think nitros r high maintenece. most of the maintence takes less than a minute, like changing glow plug and putting afterrun in your engine. those take literally 30seconds. the longest maintence routine would be changing your clutch or flywheel that takes only about 5 minutes. if you stick to good engines(trinity, ofna, os, fantom, hpi t15) you would be free from troubles, and when you get it tuned you wont run in to problems unless you overheat it. basically if you want to buy a nitro just make sure that the engine is good, that matters more than the car its self for me.

A GP RC will had clutch & brake. How soon will this 2 item need to be replace?

clutch-varible, depends on your gearing and how you drive your car.

if: you constantly go ful throtle; and its slowly accelerating. this will make it wear out much faster and might melt if its plastic. how do you fix this? just make your gearing shorter. or if you get a 3shoe alum clutch it will accelerate better and you wont need to replace them.

brake-they dont wear out.

I think in general the point made refers to the fact that due to higher speeds, higher temperatures, and more moving parts, Nitro powered cars will always require more ongoing maintenance.

Not to say you will be working on them more than running them, but for sure parts break more often, wear out more and get much messier on a nitro car than on an electric car.

That said though, any model car will require maintenance to perform at its best.

Also due to the oily fumes nitro cars need alot more cleaning, as otherwise the transmission and suspension won't work freely. If you want less trouble get an EP, if you want cool sound and longer run times GP, if you plan racing, check what race classes your local clubs have.

That's basically what I was getting at Stulec and Theo, you just made a much better job of expressing it! Also bear in mind that if they are not cleaned regularly, dirt will then stick to the car and make a real nice grinding paste, accelerating wear.

You guys also left out the fact that nitro engines need constant tuning. Changes in the humidity and outside temperature can affect the performance of the engine. The carb settings on a sunny day can be a lot different than on a cloudy day. Not quite as important if you're not racing, but just something else to think about. Electrics are always ready to go anytime.[:D]
