I want to know what 2 hops ups on a tt01 do please:

1: the carbon top brace. I get that it stiffens the chassis but why is that good? And is it worth it in racing for the wieght it adds?

2: The metal motor mount. I've got no clue about the point of this, someone tell me. :)

Thanks

1) Stiffer chassis means less flex so the suspension can do it's job properly - instead of uncontrolled chassis flex absorbing the bumps and cornering loads, the controloler shock absorbers do. Also helps to keep the drivetrain aligned for greater efficiency.

2) Motor mount will act as a heatsink to keep the motor cooler for better performance. Is also less likely to deform. Also helps to keep the drivetrain aligned for better efficiency.

One note about the metal motor mount: The tamiya ones is made of cast alloy (iron?) and is quite heavy. The after-market one like GPM is better as it's made of aluimun. and should be cheaper than Tamiya one.

And I found the metal mount's primary benefit is to act as a stronger motor support as the plastic ones flex.

Better also investigate on the metal steering linkage as it help a lot on the 'precision' of steering.

Also later get a hold on the TT01-D plastic part set B(Item No.51217), it contains bummper that allows installing of anti-roll bar without using the top carbon board, and it includes a set of better plastic lower A-ARMs (but yet to determine if it's TCS legal.)

I´m thinking of getting a TT01-R perhaps, to get some hop ups in the package. If anyone here has one, it would be nice to hear what they think about it.

How do you think a TT01 with the essentials as bearings, alu prop shaft stands up to a TA1/02 or TB01?

Good for you aKemag for getting a TT01R instead of using the standard chassis plus hop-up, as TT01R is more effective cost-wise.

TT01 should beat TA01/2 & TB01 stock form unless on gravel/dirt which make TB01 seems more advantage but then TB01 is too heavy. TA01/2 Gear train is less effective then TT01.(more rotational mass and components).

TT01 is deceively simple but effective due to it's light-weight.

I have a tt-01 with a 13*2 motor with only having ballraced it. I noticed it skips on slight bumps which can lead to a full out spin and slight loss of speed as the chassis bumps and then settles. Also without the alu driveshaft it makes a fairly loud noise at high speed but overall it performs well. I have invested in:

Carbon top deck

Alu driveshaft

Stabilser set front and rear (you need to buy the carbon top deck and the adjustable swing arms to use this hop up though!)

Alloy motor mount as plastic one was getting very hot!!

Adjustable upper swing arms front and rear

Ball races

Hopefully this should sort out the stock issues and get it going nice! All of the above cost me £50 on ebay not bad at all!
