top force motor suggestions?

i`m in need of some help with my top force.

it`s currently running an integy jett v8 12x3 with 18t pinion, an ancient tekin no limit esc and a cheap 3000mah nimh pack.

top end is good but acceleration is poor (jutts off the mark).

my question is:

is this motor suitable for the top force or should i get a different one, or is the ancient esc or cheapy battery to fault?

any suggestions on the best set ups for this car would be greatly appreciated.

Try a x1 or x2 motor instead of a x3 motor for more bottom end.

Gearing might be a bit steep as well, do the motor/ESC/battery get very hot?

As HunterZero said, Is anything getting excessively hot, that is the ESC, Motor or battery. If all 3 are getting really hot, try putting a smaller pinion on the motor eg. 16 tooth. This will improve the acceleration of the car, but you may have a lower top speed.

If nothing seems to be getting Hot, then try a different (better quality) battery, as this would be my guess as the cause of your problems.

yes it does get a bit on the hot side, thanks for the suggestions i`ll try out the 16t pinion and if that fails the battery too.
