Which Transmitter

I am looking to upgrade my transmitter to a 40mhz fm set with an LCD screen, looking to spend around £150, any advice/recommendations appreciated. Thanks.

This will be mainly used at the track. Sanwa Gemini 2 and Hitec Eclipse Pro Car look like possibilities.

I have not had experience of the Sanwa but the Hitec gear is good (as long as you use the blue bands on the reciever crystal, as when they are allowed to rattle, cause interference) but it is good stuff, especialy the new one with the big screen, I know Fusion Hobbies got them in stock I beleive.

Another vote for the Hitec 40FM gear here. I've had 2 Agressor sets and a 4 channel Laser. All performed well and were very reasonably priced.

If you are after a set that you won't be using for racing in BRCA events then I would also recommend you check out the Spektrum DX3 system (http://www.spektrumrc.com). This is about 150GBP from Modelsport with TC discount and includes a computerised Tx with storage for 3 model settings and a lot of adjustments. You also get a receiver and 2 servos included at that price. Its unaffected by interference from motors / ESC's and requires no crystals.

As I say if you are competing I don't think the BRCA have got round to approving the Spektrum gear, but it can only be a matter of time imho.

You should be able to find a package with the Hitec Aggressor CRX (witch is an awesome radio) and a spekrum module/reciver...

Not sure I'd bother with the CRX if you plan on using the Spektrum module.... Cheaper to just get the Spektrum DX-3, which I believe is based on a popular JR set.

The main issue I think for the OP is whether you plan to compete in BRCA races. The Spektrum gear has not yet been approved by BRCA, so until it is you won't be able to race using it.
