Have read much negative things about the TT01 so i wanted to try and clear some things out.

For this comming indoor season i want to get a car that i dont need to be afraid of finding spares for, and that has a fair chance of beeing fast. So i was thinking of getting a TT01 190E since the shell is SO good looking. And what i need is a fairly stable and fairly fast car that is good looking.

So i wonder:

What about the TT01 190E

Can it be fast enough with a perhaps SuperStock RZ or whatever and speed gearing?

Can it be stable enough.

I was planning to get:

Alu propshaft and full bearings.

Alu motor mount.

Any other good Hop-UP.

I dont need to beat the hard-core racers, but i want to be (much?)faster than the average Joe at least.

Can it be done?

Has it been done?

And basically: Is TT01 a bad chassie?

Ive got a TT01 and I think its a rather good chassis, for a fun chassis that you can beat the poo out off and itll still keep going its great, Ive got bearings, alu prop shaft, and a metal motor mount and ive had no problems, the tb02 is another chassis to look at.

When I first got into indoor racing, I used my tt-01 for a while. It had: alu prop shaft, alu motor mount, full bearings, racing tyres, 19t (cheap) motor and a basic esc. To my surprise I was keeping up with *some* of the faster, more expensive things like Academy and Yokomo. The standard kit slicks are a joke, so a needed hop-up would be some proper racing tyres, I used Take-off CS27 tyres all round.

There were a couple of people who came evey week to race and every Sunday to practice who I didn't manage to beat, unsurprisingly. It was, as you said fast and fun racing and I enjoyed it a lot.

I did, however, keep breaking the fronthubs so I decided to get some alu hubs which worked a treat.

So yeh, I recon it can be done, just don't expect to keep up with the *major hardcore* racers like you said.

Sounds good to hear. Maybee i could get a tt01-R to get some of the Hop-Ups in the box, and then get a 190E shell for it.

Do you have the speed gearing in yours?

The most important thing you need are the right tires. As petrolhead already said, the Take Off CS27 are the best racing tires available and they are pretty cheap. Don't forget to get some medium-hard inserts.

ok! Havent thought much about the tires actually. Without grip, nothing helps.

I guess it should be better than my original TA01 190E in any case. Havent been driving that much on the track since i´m afraid to trash the body.

Thanks alot for the tips you all!

the upgrade spurs are 53665 and the 24/25 pinions set is 50477, both together give a significant speed increase but best to stick with the standard motor with this setup as it will put a lot of strain on anything warmer (however, speed with this on is such that you might not want a quicker motor anyhow).

Sounds like there is plenty of speed in a TT01 after all. I might get that 190E EVO II one of these days.

Thanks alot you all!!!
