Hi there Guy's

I was wondering how good the Tamiya Buggy's are? I'm not going to race it just for bomming around really, I used to own a Manta Ray and although it was loads of fun it did give trouble .. the shock towers (front) were absolutely useless and the motor mount gearing arrangement didn't allow dor allot of play.

What would you go for the 4 wheel drive or the new Two wheel drive?

I use a Baja Champ and a Terra Conqueror (Manta Ray derivative) for bashing around. Every now and then something gets broken, but it's usually easy enough to replace...

Hey there, I own a Desert Gator (one of tamiyas newest buggys) 2WD excellent machine, pritty fast and even faster with a mod motor, gears seems strong and so does the whole car, Not a out and out racing machine but handles really well. Also seen 2.2 wheels and stadium truck shells on the same chassis, if you get bored with the buggy theme.

i own a baja champ too, and until now nothing has been broken, and i do drive it to destruction, parts are cheap ish ;-) and pretty easy to get hold of, most tamiya buggies are cool

The Baja Champ design seems to stand up to more abuse than the DF02, but the DF02 is faster and quieter.

Main problem with the Baja is that whenever you break something it tends to be a molded part of the chassis - although that tends to be after you've hit something where on the DF02 you'd break the steering or shock tower so it's a bit of a toss up really.

we found the baja chump to be a pile of cack! bought oil dampers for it to improve the handleing, still a load of cack, put in a 19t orion motor to twitchy to control as there is no castor so it turns to sharp

back of the chassis bust within 1/5 hr of running, ive had my terrascorcher for donkeys years and thats hardly bust anything!

modern technology you can keep it!

I was one of the first to get the df-02 when released and the only part that had broken is the chassis in the gearbox-a-arm area due to crashing in a concrete wall with 50km. 8 bux damage.

i drive all my vehicles until they brake, and i have to say that i went home with the gravel unharmed most of the times.

Sure is better all around ,than the older tamiyas

I have a midnight pumpkin and it's <please no adult words, also kids read this forum> ace! 2wd. big wheelies and great for scrambling about. Not complicated to fix and fairly solid. Its got good ground clearance - enough to go along into the sea and rivers etc. Also recommend Blackfoot for similar reasons.
