I hope this is an easy one for someone...

Real newbie here - I just purchased another buggy. It has a battery that has a Deans plug connector. The charger that came with it has two crocodile clips to connect to the battery to charge it. I know which colors go together - but for the life of me I have no idea how to attach the clips to the battery?? They don't plug into the deans plug, there is no "open" areas on the wires. Really confusing.

I can take pics of both the battery and the charger if that would help?

I apologize if this is not the right area to post this - but you racers know everything [;)]

I really appreciate any help folks [:)]

pics woould help because i dint understand very well.

but i ll give it a try .

to charge a batt with deans female ,you have to have a deans male with wires to go to the output of your charger. the crocodile clips that you mention in propably the input for the 12v dc from your 1:1car or your 12v dc power suply.

hope that helps.

pics we will be more helpfull though.

I have the Pulsar Comp charger that comes with crocodile clips. I then use the corresponding plug (Tamiya/Deans), that plugs into the battery plug, with the red/black wire attached, and clamp the croc clips to the wire.

You'll have to make yourself some kind of Deans adaptor. I built one out of a male Deans, wire, and two corally tubes covered with heatshrink so they don't short out. Crocodile clips fit perfect.

This is great!!

Thanks Andreas_Bl.. but the large crocodile clips that hook up to a car battery are also there.. These clips look identical to Tipsy's pic.

It looks like I need to buy/make a wire just like Tipsy's second pic (deans end plugs into battery connector, and the charger would clip on the open ends of the wires) - Can this be purchased somewhere?

I will post a couple pics this evening or first thing tomorrow morning in case that helps. Funny thing is, the guy I purchased this off of says it should work [8)]

Do any chargers come with Deans plugs?

Thanks again folks

Any good model shop should sell both the deans connector, and the red/black wire. The deans connectors usually come in male/female packs with heatshrink. Some also sell them individually. My top pic is of the Tamiya equivalent. It just happens im charging as you posted this! The other end of the charger has much larger croc clips so they can get around a 12V battery terminal
