ESC setup help

i recently bought a pro2 off ebay, this came with a 23 turn motor and a speedo which says it is a "m sonik sport rv"?? i have searched the net for a manual for this speedo but have come up with nothing. i need the manual as i dont know what features are available for setting up on the thing (especially reverse lockout if it has it)

i hope some of you can help me out here thanks

They have manuals on their website http://www.mtroniks.net, but only for current models. The manual for the MSonik4 range is here http://www.mtroniks.net/download.asp?ResourceID=22

I would try following those instructions first, if that doesn't help try sending an email to them at enquiries@mtroniks.net for advice.

thanks very much, it kinda worked, but i have shelved the speedo now, as it has a tendancy to jump into reverse (even when its meant to be diabled) gona have to get myself a novak[]

It's nice to know some do still do reverse. Two Mtroniks ESCs at my club have had the reverse disabled and we can't reprogram them to go into reverse again[8)]

Sorry it's late if you have ditched the speedo, but if it's a Sport Max 3, see http://www.cosmic-cat.co.uk/images/mtronik...ik3sportmax.jpg for a scan of my manual. AFAIK there's no reverse lockout function.

Terry, you might find that the ESCs don't have reverse lockout, but have been overstressed. I've done this with a couple of Ripmax ESCs before, they worked fine, and then reverse went, never to come back - think it's to do with blown FETs or something?

Setup on the Sonik4 and Viper to get reverse on and off is virtually impossible without carefully following the instructions though.

jozza, both the Mtroniks ESCs have reverse lockout, I think it's standard on the whole range. When setting them up reverse can be turned on or off, depending on your timing on hitting the button when the 2 LEDs are flashing - it takes some practice to time it right. One of these was brand new and the owner had accidentally turned reverse off. Couldn't get it back on again even after reading the instructions. In the end told him to contact Mtroniks.
