I have a slight problem and wondered if there is anybody who can help me.

A friend and I have both decided to buy a Nitro Tamiya, and have decided to get the TGX Subaru, probably the 1999 body.

I have managed to find the 2001 in the UK for £323 (about $500). Most places in the US seem to sell them for $390-$500 but because of the shipping and duty I was going to buy in the UK.

BUT then I found a place in the US selling them for $149!!!!

Only problem is they do not ship to the UK, and they only ship to the credit card billing address.

Is there anybody based in America who would be happy to buy 2 of the 44019 TGX Subaru's for me, have them delivered to their address, and then ship them on to me. I will be able to send you the $ for the cars, for the postage to yourself, and then the postage to the UK, and on top pay you 10% of the total cost as a thankyou.

Please get in touch with me at noeljmarshall****@yahoo.com (removing the ****) if you can help.

Thanks

Noel

Hi,

There are several different options on buying TGX kits.....

i) Buy from a UK hobby store, most expensive way but generally not the fault of store or importer. This is due to the UK ordering fewer kits and so not being able to negotiate cheaper prices on quantity and also that we have to pay duty and VAT on goods brought into the country. Typically expect £300 to £350.

ii) Buy from the US, Tower Hobbies, eBay, etc. Typically pay around $200 to $250 plus another $40 for shipping.

iii) Buy from Hong Kong via eBay and pay around the same as US, (my choice).

iv) Buy the chassis kit from Hong Kong via eBay and buy the engine and body locally, usually works out cheaper, especilly if all sourced from a good Hong Kong eBayer.

I have bought a lot of TGX kits and have persued every option to get them cheap. It is especially good to buy two and save on shipping. Just remember that you may get hit for Duty and VAT when they land in the UK. This seems more likely if coming from the US/Japan and a lot less if coming from Hong Kong.
