when you guys paint your ABS car bodies, do you use clearcoat (Tamiya spay can)? Does anyone ever used clearcoat on white and have it yellowed over time? I am talking only about tamiya spay paints (TS).

Thanks,

Darwin

Just used TS clear coat to protect the - oversensitive unfortunatelly [xx(][:(][V]- decals of the 935, looks nice, but will need many years to tell if it yellows. Have a Ligies which seems to be clearcoated may years ago and hasn't yellowed. I think the most yellowing happens to unpainted white plastic, have heared that acrylics also yellow less than enamels, in the end the best is to avoid sun, neon and halogen lights.

Most of the clear lacquers these days say "non-yellowing" on the can; I'm sure Tamiya's one would too if we could read Jap. But as to their truth, unfortunately only time will tell.

Tamiyas are non yellowing. Just stay away from Testors Gloss. If its a white paintjob, you most certainly will see "yellowing" within a couple of years[xx(].

Another good one is "Gunze-Sangno"(sp)? I've seen many of guys use this on their aircraft models and it looks good even after 10 years.

Just stay away from the Testors stuff....[;)]
