For those that haven't seen already:

58308: TT-01 based Ford Focus WRC http://www.tamiya.com/english/news/news/news3.htm#58308

New stuff from the International Model and Hobby Expo including

TB-02, Blackfoot-xtreme, TNX and Twin Detonator

http://www.tamiya.com/english/news/event/c...3/broadcast.htm

Still haven't found any info on the Neo Shot, anyone have any info why it isn't in shops yet?

Mike.

Sadly the Blackfoot-Extreme looks like an extreme example of Tamiya's love of reuseing parts.

It looks like a 2WD Dagger....

Argh! The BF has sunk to TL-01 mediocrity! [V]

TWMaster is right about the Twin Detonator and BFX they are both re-hashes of the Wild Dagger chassis, actually it hardly a surprise to me, as I was wondering wether Tamiya would make further use of the Daggers Twin Motor chassis, but it would seem that this chassis is now the future shape of Tamiya's Medium sized monster trucks, directly superseeding the aging Frog based chassis, still one good thing of note is that the BFX appears to carry on the tradition of giving all Blackfoots hard plastic bodies ;)

The quick drive Baja Kings are more of a worry, but then again it actually seems better suited to this role and I'd rather they stuck to churning out QD versions of the BK rather than go onto produce more TB-01 chassied buggy clones :S

as for the the great white hope (58306) Neo Shot... I've seen on some LHS websites that its UK release is pencilled in for October some time, but as we are already upto the 2003 Impretza (58305) then the Neo Shot should be close behind, yet there is virtually no publisity forthcomming from Tamiya for this vitally important model, which is really strange, it's almost as if they don't care at all about their Off Road products and actually want the thing to fail ;)

New Blackfoot body????

That is the same as the KBF. All they did was add a hoodscoop and change the grille. Otherwise *Yawn!* the same.

Heck, I'd almost *bet* the hoodscoop is a glue or screw on afterthought.

Sad really.

I Dunno about the new blackfoot, It's missing the 4" bouncy shocks, does anyone think this one could do a wheely?

I like the old frog chassis myself, but thats just me [:D]

The same 'yawn' could be applied to grasshoppers/hornet/superhornet/madbull couldn't it, or even, dare I say it, rough rider/sand scorcher/blackfoot etc. they are all the same cars with a different body on it......

Your probably right about the bonnet scoop being bolted on and the grille is just a grille, but its still a hard body.

I think I'd rather have a blackfoot extreme I could use than a Sand Scorcher I was afraid of.

Dunno if it just me but the Focus wheels look one piece whilst the Cossie wheels were two piece. Look nice though, lol. Not too sure about the XBF and detonator, both are erm, stylistically challenged. Also it appears the Tamiya people have difficulty spelling. What is a detonater? lol

I sure believe so! Since it is missing the front gearbox, it will be lighter on the front axle. And a good Dagger is always able to do a wheelie.

Well there is not motor visible in the front of the BFX-Chassis, so no gearbox, just the assembly to hold the front a-arms.
