hi

can anyone help me with a pinion gear for a Schumacher Bosscat? Standard Tamiyas seem to have too big teeth and 0.4 module (Dyna Storm, 415 etc) teeth too small. So if someone can sell me a pinion to fit a Schumacher, or just give me advice on what i need i would be very greatful. Not sure how many teeth it needs to have, i guess by looking at it around 30T.

Thanks for your time

If they use the same pinions as the Pro Cat they were 48dp pinions. Schumacher dont use metric like Tamiya. It depends on the spur gear size. Cat XLS use 32dp pinions (very old) What spur gear range do you have? If its the 80-90 range then its a 48dp, if its 50-60 then its 32 dp.

Hi,

DP stands for Diametric Pitch. 48dp (diametric pitch). This means that for every inch round the edge of the gear, there are 48 teeth. Tamiya use 0.6 Module gears which is a metric alternative. They are slightly different in design so are not compatible. Most model shops still sell 48dp pinions.

Hope the description helps[?]

The Bosscat uses standard 48dp pinions. I say standard as outside of Tamiya just about every manufacturer uses pinions and spur gears with a tooth size of 48dp. Any hobby shop should be able to sort you out, they are easier to get hold of than Tamiyas metric ones.
