SJoerD 2 Posted November 8, 2003 Where are the blue dampers? [] I think that looks **** nice, for a touring car. I can already see a version with more plastic comming: the TA-05. Though one thing my eagle eye is missing: The holes for the racing front hub carrier (as on TA-04) are there, but there is not actual rods... Also the steering rods are on ballheads that double as the upright pin. The holes are on the front C hub next to the ballhead of the steering rod, and the rod should go to a ballhead which replaces the 2 screws (left and right) in the upperdeck that are right above the steering arms. But you can always buy a hop-up perhaps. [}]
sosidge 624 Posted November 9, 2003 But the extra front suspension braces are undesirable anyway. At best they just add a little friction, at worst they hold the suspension out of place after a crash.

Setup as per Tamiya instructions, they will do funny things to your camber as the suspension moves up. But this can be adjusted by shimming one pair of balls higher. I feel the rods make the TA04 livelier and corners better (or might just be the camber change??). Have put rods also on EvoIII and there's less "improvement", but it does stiffen up the slop a bit. Local race guys think the rods are just one more thing that can fall off in battle, but personally my impacts have popped off more rear links than any front ones. By the time its popped the front link/s the susp arm (hard) would have broken and the hingepin needing replacement. Mega hint:- if anybody wants to put torque rods on TA04/EvoIII and you don't need fancy titanium etc turnbuckles, just buy the 53300 TL-01 turnbuckle tie-rod set, gives you all you need - cheap! (if TA04 hasn't got the new C-carriers, buy 53458 TA04 Racing hub carrier set)

SJoerD 2 Posted November 10, 2003 Willy, on your pics is has blue dampers (and a black spurgear too). I't doesn't make me feel blue though I like the silver dampers on the car better. [8D]

It will probably be debuted by Surikarn in Thailand this weekend but it'll be months away at least before it reaches any shop shelf.

Top Force Racer 3 Posted November 14, 2003 Just what the R/C community needs--another hotshot touring car. If Tamiya had some nerves, they'd make this into an off-road buggy. Call it the Neo Shot Evolution or something.

RETRO R/C 59 Posted November 24, 2003 No - Tech released this chassis before Corally ..... the wonders of badge engineering.......it happens everywhere! Cheers Darryn
Top Force Racer 3 Posted November 24, 2003 The Corally Assasin looks like a killer car, but the AE TC3 is shaft drive.
RETRO R/C 59 Posted November 24, 2003 I think Willy was referring to the "myth" that Tamiya copied the HPI pro witht he 414 - and the TC3 with the Evo........ Trouble is with these sort of theories - is that if you want to get real technical - have a look at the first "REAL" racing orientad touring car - the Yokomo YR-4....hmmmmmmm - all designs are an extension of that if you look..Also - you could even say the Tenth Technology predator is a benchmark for shaft drives.............I seem to remember team associated drivers using them at several major meetings before Associated "designed" the TC3.........ahhhh - but I am being to "historical" now........ Cheers Darryn
RETRO R/C 59 Posted November 24, 2003 [^][^][^][^][^][^][^][^][^][^][^] LOLOL With my comment on the Yokomo YR-4 - I was more talking about touring cars.......have a look at the layout.....remarkably similar when you take away some of the "bulk"....... Top Force Racer 3 Posted November 24, 2003 I don't know...the Associated website claims that the TC3 was introduced at the end of 1999. And as far as I can remember, the release date for the TB Evo kit #58267 was Oct 2000.
