I have a TA03R, which has just been rebuilt, with almost all new parts.

It's in top nick, and is quite a good chassis (belt driven, oil shocks as standard)

Would you do a straight swap?

How do you define "modern"?

Ta03Rs are not that old(less than 5 years) and are higher quality than the "modern" ones for the same price... take a TT-01, shaft driven, friction shocks, no ball joints.... TA03Rs are much better than the current basic Tamiya Tourers, and are more competitive.
