Yeah I thought it was part of the Kyosho 3 speed sort of knock offs. Does anybody know? An I'm going to have to buy it to find out? It looks like it might of been made at the same time as the scorpion

Looks to me like the Kyosho " INDIANNA " - the worlds first automatic gearbox RC car !!

I think there is one on this site - one was certainly on ebay a few weeks ago NIB.......

Very trick for their day.

Darryn, as far as I can see on mine, the gear box isn't autmatic but it has a gearshifter connected to the msc servo, as far as I understood from the manual one gear for front and one for reverse, it has also a centrifugal clutch like a petrol car, so almost no braking! Sorry Kyosho, but no comparison to the Tamiya 3-speeds, am planning to make a comparison test, also SS vs Kyosho Beetle, there the Kyosho chances look much better tttlogo.gif

The Indianna has an automatic two speed gearbox.

Kyosho also did a chain drive 4wd - the name escapes me at the moment -.

I am almost 100% sure that the car in the pic is an indianna - as for the gearbox nad mechanicals - you wont know till you get it - people do some funny things to these (and ALL) R/C cars.

I aqm sure that no-one will ever say that there was a better "scale" series of trucks than the 3 speeds from Tamiya. They were - and probably always will be the definitve scale truck.

Cheers

p.s - the beetle will SMOKE the scorcher. webpagelink.JPG
