A buyer initiated a complaint against me through paypal. He states that he never recieved his item from auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=1761916875

This item was shipped on 9/11/02. I didn't use delivery confirmation (which I should have). All I have is reciept with the date and his zip code on it. The thing that gets me was this was the last guy to pay on my auctions that ended on 8/31. He took his sweet time about replying to my first end of auction note and to actually paying for his auction. His parts should have arrived no later than 9/15. I think this guy is a fraud as he has had a couple of negative feedbacks in the recent past.

I could refund his money or send him another set of parts. It just chaps my hide to think someone is getting over on me. It might end up being my first negative feedback rating.

Would those parts go with this?

His description says no box & parts may be red or white. I think he got this pic somewhere, but what he's selling is pieced together. Maybe he's selling your parts he says he didn't get. Could you turn him in to ebay or something?

It could have been lost in the mail (bad luck) or he could be a scammer (bad person)

Good luck anyway.

You know, I totally overlooked the part about the parts being red or white. I saw thw auction and thought it was odd that he would be selling a complete body kit but want to buy parts for one. Now it clicks. The fact that in one of his feedbacks, a buyer states that he took his money without delivering a product.

If this guy was from LA (Los Angeles) I would drive down there myself and straigten things out. Unfortunatley, this guy is from Kansas. I sent him a mail with a copy of the receipt an offer to sell him another set at half price. Honestly I think he got the original set but I have no way of proving that. I think the half price offer was fair considering Insurance wasn't bought for the item.

Jim,

Sorry to hear about this situation. That guy has 2 recent negatives so something is not right. I guess I will continue to use delivery confirmation on all US shipments, although I too don't always do that on low-value items.

Jim,

I personally believe the feedback mechanism is really biased as it discourage people from reporting bad experiences, or inadequatly quote ebayers (how many times have we left good feedback when the guy deserved neutral at best).

I am personnally having a fairly bad experience with an idiot german seller that makes every effort he can to turn our trade to a really bad experience. For one time I am really considering to leave a bad feedback even if this is at the expense of my own profile.

All in all you should just assume the possibility of a bad feedback and not try to make unacceptable efforts with this guy. Another way of considering it is : what financial effort, how much anger and time are you ready to trade against a positive feedback from a guy who is moking you?

My advice is : keep your money, keep your parts, save your time and forget about the feedback.
