Hey! I have been watching that auction. These Jeeps are pretty cool but they don't seem to fetch much money. I would estimate it will end for somewhere around $45-$65 bucks. I don't think I am going to bid on it. I spent a bunch of money this weekend so I better lay low or else the Cost Containment Radar Operator (Wife) is going to kill me.

Do you know how these things stack up against the Tamiya's?

The Mauri Golden Eagle was a good looking Jeep model, but it did not hold together well. Especially the body. The roll cage did not have the steel wire reinforcements that the Tamiya roll bars enjoy. One good roll and it would be time to pull out the super glue to try to get the roll bar back together. I went through three of these kits when I was younger. They are the perfect shelf queen and conversation piece though. For $50 or under it is still not a bad buy.

The transmission was pretty good, but the suspension parts were made of a brittle plastic that shattered instead of flexing like the Wild Willy (Willy's Wheeler or Pajero).
