I think Roby is right, I'd put money on this one being listed as $1300.00 yesterday too.

I don't think the guys feedback was hidden yesterday either.

(and I have a strange feeling it was listed as $980.00 before that last week sometime before being removed.)

This hidden feedback is starting to annoy me now!

What's the point of having the option to leave FB if noone can read it?

I deal with a guy who's got several negs, and most of them are pre-communication - but he doesn't hide them, just lets his positives do the talking.

He emailed me about his rough rider before it even showed up in ebays search engine. So I had a chance to buy-it-now last night and almost did it. Then I checked his feedback (before it became private). Out of that 20 or so, he actually sold on about 4 or 5, in which two were negative feedbacks. The rest of the positive feedbacks were from his buying. Oddly, these purchases were mostly from private sellers too. The handfull of legit ones were from 1 to 2 feedback sellers. So I decided against purchasing.

Jason had one for sale as well with a BIN of $1300, I'm sure this is another. Has Jason's one gone then? I'll check in a minute.

I was suprised at the BIN price of $980. But when you see 5% extra for PayPal and $60 or so for shipping then it's around $1100 total. Which is a lot of money to loose and with a trustworthy seller having one at $1300 is it worth $200 to risk? Not for me to decide as I don't need NIB and don't have that much money to spend on a RR.[:D]

All this private feedback is very "iffy". I don't understand why e-bay allow it, specially if he is a private seller ( Not Disney like the other one in the forums )

[:I]The only reason to hide it would be because you have something to hide.[:I]

This is Jason's ( BIN has gone )

True, the fb is not private anymore... but the eBay Auction numbers are hidden.

(Didn't even know you *could* do that!!)

the auction sounds fishy but you never ajruppjr might be able to get a smokin deal. The seller accepts paypal. You can uses Paypals buyer protection plan. It if isn't what the seller says it to be then you can get your money back. When you use your credit card and the seller burns you, you can dispute the charges with your credit card company and claim fraud.

That sounds good shodog but has anyone had to do this? i have heared so many horror stories of ppl trying to get compensation and it always seems to either take forever or they just get bounced around from one place to another or they can't even get any replies or just get some line of bull even from credit card companies, would be nice to know this actually has worked for some ppl.

Stanger and Stranger...

These auctions were pointed out to me by a concerned visitor to our forums...

All 3 auctions share identical pictures to the items now appearing on ebay by the seller of the RR. All three are by different sellers with different legit looking feedbacks.

you can reach your own conclusions...

Chris,

We appreciate your diligence - this is really disturbing. I think what is happening here folks is that some jerks (possibly thieves) are looking to take advantage of our enthusiasm for vintage RC Cars. Sure, we all know what we are getting into when an item might be overpriced, but who know's what you're getting (or might not be getting!) when someone like this has multiple postings under different names for the same item.[:(]

Buyer Beware. [:(!]

Regards,

or worse, the other yahoo auctions are real and this is a complete fake. Or giving the ebay seller the benefit of the doubt it could be the other way around. I think its fair to say there is something strange about it either way.
