PROXY BIDDING

Do you reckon this is a good idea - a lot of shill bidding would be ineffective without it (no price to bump), you could immediately see what you were bidding against and the seller would get what the buyer was prepared to pay!

I think it would be the same with or without proxy bidding. What is to say that the same shill bidder wouldn't just up his bid every time. proxy bidding is good becuase usually the auction ends for less than you were willing to pay.
