Would be interesting to hear of peoples bargain buys. Not only from e-bay but maybe from a friend or a shop.

Mine was the NIB Ligier kit for [:D]$150[:D] from a local'ish' shop. Also my Pajero metaltop was pretty good because I got it in Japan.

I think it would have to be my Subaru Brat, in pretty good nick, with original electrics £20. [:D] though havent paid more than £40 for any of mine, ok nothing too special in collection but all bargains in their own way... including merc c11 for £10, rr £40(not complete) hotshot £40(with spares), celica was given to me.

My best buy was a hornet from the local Flea market. It was barely used as it still had almost all the tread on the buggy spike tires. It came with a Futaba radio and esc. It has full ball bearings. Body was painted horribly though. The price, a cool $5. Needless to say I didn't haggle on the price. The car kinda became a runner for my Son, He crashed it into the rock retaining wall in fron of my house and broke an A arm and body mount. I robbed the electronics for other cars. Here it is in it's current state.

I have some new parts and hop ups for it. Just need to find a new body that isn't priced up in the stratosphere

I guess my best was the Subaru Brat I picked up for $65(USD) (ebay BIN) afew weeks ago. The body is uncracked and is complete except for the white front tube bumper in front of the grille. The rest of the car is missing wheels and tires, but is otherwise mostly there and in good shape. I just saw another Brat in similar condition, except it had proper used wheels and tires go for over $250(USD).

I also got a Very nice Sonic Fighter, with radio and bettery for $39 (USD)..

This is a toughie... could it be the RM Mk1 and 2 I got mostly complete, with an unpainted Lola body and wing, for AUS$100? For the benefit of those out there, AUS$100 is about US$50, GBP 35 or so, or NZ$15000 (sorry SuperJu mate, had to add that!!!). Must have been on a good thing, one of the members here offered me $180 cash for it sight unseen... sorry Willy...

Then there's the Fast Attack Vehicle that I got with okay condition box, instructions, full radio gear and battery at a garage sale for $30...

I also got a New Built Schumacher Shotgun truck for AUS$90 a while back... I like it because it's SOOOOO clean, and the anodised red chassis looks soooo sexy!!!

Must go have a cold shower now...

Hmmmm...I have a few GREAT bargains:

1.) NIB Nissan R91CP - $103.00

2.) NIB Hornet - $217.00

3.) NIB Madcap - $65.00

4.) NIB Sonic Fighter Complete kit - $105.00

The only reason I bought the Sonic Fighter kit is because it seemed rare. It came with a Tamiya Adspec Radio, servo, and CRP unit, Tamiya 1200 MaH battery, and a Tamiya charger. The box art is different too, and the box is alot bigger than the original. Seemed like a good buy, eventhough it is the Sonic Fighter! hehe!

A NIB sealed Porsche 934 for $350,- Description was for a static 934 but the small and unclear picture in the auction gave it away; clearly the RC car [:D] Not many noticed it I guess. The ones that did kept quit till the end; with an hour to go it was only $50,-

Mine was a three car lot that consisted of a Sand Scorcher, Rough Rider and a new built hornet for only $325.00!! The Scorcher and Rough Rider were barely used. The Scorcher even had the exhaust and all chrome. Have since sold the the Rough Rider, and doubled my money!

Holiday Buggy and Coors Melling Thundrbird from the fleamarket:

65 old Dutch Guilders (we used to have real money those days.. . [|)] ), which would be around €30. I was well pleased!

Though I had NOT A SINGLE IDEA what I actually bought at that time... Thanx to mainly Theo's site I know better... [;)] I still see the HB as some sort of my first car, as in my "RC life" it made a huge difference... [:)]

It strange how the longer you are in the game for how you level of what is a bargain raises...

That said I got this partially built SS for £45.00 a couple of months ago

http://www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=2923&id=1

and last Christmas, some of you may have remembered that huge haul of stuff I got from a local toy shop last Christmas. More stuff than I could fit in Renault Espace with no passenger seats. 40 odd Clodbuster wheels, new sand rover and lunchbox bodies and much more. Got the whole lot for £180.00 - got some pictures somewhere...

If anyone saw what I took to the Winter Drive that is about 1/4 of the original find!
