I think we need to discuss and come to a consensus about whether or not we want to point out auctions for tamiya stuff on ebay. I've been noticing an increasing number of posts which just say 'hey, anyone looking for a whoseewhat?'.

It hasn't happened to me yet, but I'd be rather upset (as a buyer) if someone 'outted' an interesting auction that I'd been keeping my eye on. I'd be bummed to have spent my time searching for something atr a good price, only to have it blurted out here.

I'm NOT talking about people posting about their own auctions. That's what this forum is for (among other things). I'm also NOT talking about bringing up stuff which looks odd or suspicious or weird etc.. I'm just talking about posts pointing out things which other club members may have spent alot of time searching for. "Hey, I found a set of SS tires on ebay which I don't want."

Do you really think anybody on this board didn't alreay know about those items? Come on if you're a tamiyaclub member then chances are you know where 90% of the **** is hidden on ebay.

Yea, I'm with Sean. Think whether anyone posts it in here or not it wouldn't really make much difference to the ending price.

Personally if I find anything that I know someone else wants, I'd usually privately email him a headsup anyway. This is on the premise that we're not here to advertise (free?!) for eBay.

Bholio I know where you are coming from. I have had auctions I have been watching posted for everyone to see. If I want it bad enough, I'll still bid on it. Some days I just don't have the time to search out Ebay. It is kinda nice when someone else points out an auction that might otherwise go unnoticed. On the flip side I could also see it getting out of hand where people post many auction that might or might not have any significance. I think people should use their discretion.

Now if everyone can quit bidding on that Ball diff for the Scorcher I would be happy.

What a jackass that guy was to tell everybody about the SS ball diff. Oh wait that was me and yes I did get all those death-threat emails about spilling the beans.

Maybe we should draw ballots... as to *who* at TC is given licence to buy any particular posted@TC item!! That'll stop the fighting... and might be 110% effective against "self-promotional" posts too. [;)]

Don't think so, got 2 months ago a new built Frog with only used body and a good RC for $48 on Ebay, do you think it would stay like this if posted here? [;)]

I think those "hidded" items shouldn't be posted here, some people go through the trouble of searching for them, they should be awarded accordingly...

posts or no posts,in most cases its the guy who has $$$$ or slips in at the last moment or just luck who ends up with the item.ebay is ebay

its just that way, there are lots of people out there too that are bidding on these items.

Not always, like I wrote above there are well hidden auctions which the guys with $$$$ don't find, as they don't need to, since they can afford the well listed ones [;)]

To be honest, a lot of the posts are pointing out expensive/laughable auctions - It's very rare for a post to contain anything 'desirable' especially if it's been spelt wrong/badly described - the people that took the time to find them aren't gonna blab if they want it for themselves. - Look at the amount of NIB scorcher front wheel sets that have gone lately - I don't think anyone highlited them.

Anyone could have found that diff, but I for one never look for a scorcher diff, and don't really need one, but it's interesting to watch!

Eventhough Sean posted the diff auction, look who the high bidder is. He isn't a member of this board. He rarely fails to win an auction. I am sure he has a high enough bid to knock eveyone out of the running.

On top of that you'll notice that I'll never post regarding an item that I'll think will go for a lower price. However an item with SS thorp ball diff <---Me thinks it's not to hidden [:D]

Now if we have an auction that says old metal rc buggy and its a racing buggy --I'll tell you right now "My lips are sealed". Or if you live downunder it's "Alex The Seal" (Random GoGo reference about one of their world tours.)

I am sorry but I have to comment. The phase comes to mind when refering to this person. "Rode hard, put away wet".[}:)]

You should clarify that comment, The Belinda Carlisle of the eighties not the one she has become.

Completely agree, non hidden items can be posted with no problem, only hard to find ones which would go lower...
