Last night ebay had an auction for two porsche 935's. Nobody went for the auction till I bid with 2 days left. I emailed the seller and waited for the auction to close. With little time left BOOM BANG the report of the auction sniperrifle could be heard across ebay. Like a shooter in a virtual water tower I got sniped right between the eyes. At that moment I was out at the local bar when my mobile phone reported the bad news. The only way to respond(in a beer like state) and stop the bleeding was to fire back using my wireless web service. I went to the web browser and clicked on the bookmark for ebay. My phone said ....sending....sending....working....then....

then...."This webpage does not support this browser" After that I could hear the beep of the "end of auction" email but it was off in the distance. All I could do now was head into the bright white ebay light.

You won this battle --but you haven't won the auction sniper war --muhahahahahahhaha!

dude I am telling you you should set up with auctionsniper.com It will place your bid for you. It still won't help against people willing to spend way more money than you though.

99% of the time I do use the auctionsniper. This time I went with a straight bid and emailed Ron to end the auction now. Bad call on my part and the item went higher than I wanted to pay. No big loss, I just found it funny how the final hours went down.

Sorry I must admit that it was me that was the sniper on this one. It is not something that I normally do but I have lost a lot of auctions recently to snipers and had decide if you cant beat them join them. There was also another sniper watching this auction but as I had made a higher initial bid I was the lucky one. Sorry snollan Merry Christmas

I knew it was you don't worry about it. You paid more than I was willing to pay. The reason I'm making this post is how funny the events were the led to this. You should've seen me in the bar trying to get ebay up on my cell phone. On top of that the bar was holding a bikini contest and there I am trying to get a bid up.

Way to funny. The good thing is that it was two 935 that's what made that auction so cool. Anyway have a good one because I already filled the void with something else.

I have seen this also in other posts, I thought that this was something not very nice and a bit taboo in this board, I did it also a couple of times in the past, but if we start writing it as a normal procedure, in the end no auction will end correctly, which isn't nice and fair, or?

Thats why you should put priorities in your life, now you missed both the auction and the bikinis [;)][:D]

You're so right on that Theo. I emailed because nobody had bid on it and I was worried that he was going to pull the auction. I think one lession that we've all learned is that protection from letting an auction finish is a good thing.
