This is a TOTALLY different topic to the parts topic, but I bought a Sand Scorcher from Andy Bures off Ebay, user name dulleekcomeath. He's from the UK (London, Surry)

Talk about a run-around, first he's sick for two weeks, then he dropped the package off, then its sitting in the shipping depot, then its shipped two weeks ago, will have tracking number. A week later still no tracking number as promised, no item and its been six weeks total since I paid him.

Has anyone else dealt with this guy?

Back in March of 2000 he bought he bought a partial frog decal sheet form me. He used my buy it now option but it took 23 days from the date that the auction closed for his payment to arrive. He gave me a money order that my bank balked at but eventually cashed. I keep detailed notes on all my auctions. That way I know what to expect if the same bidder bids on my other succesive auctions.

Yes I delt with the guy and it took ages. I sent him a cheque and it cleared but still took him ages to send the item. He said there was a postal strike, then he said it was sent back to him because the post office staff told him the wrong amount and it did'nt have enough money on it.

I'm not saying any of this isn't true but it was all very "coincidental".

I got the item anyway and I must say the description was a bit missleading and meant there was a part missing that I thought would be there, but if you read the auction then it could have been either way I suppose.

I gave him a positive feedback but just said "Took a while, but got there in the end" He got a bit snotty at that and said it was'nt right because he had done me a favour by paying extra when the parcel was returned to him!!!! Amazing.

Might not be a good idea to start talking about specific people on the board though?. But he was a good exaplme of a not so good seller.

Hi Jon

I got the exhausts - thanks !

Anyway, I know Andy and he has been round my house and we have traded a few times and in his defense I dont think that he would screw you for this car. He can be very slow to send items and pay money but usually he is ok.

I have not heard from him in a few weeks so maybe he has been ill but I have lost his contact number so cannot phone him.

Give it another week then I will drive round his house (20 miles away from me) and get it sorted.

Thanks Darren. That's cool that you live near by and know him. I got his number from Ebay and even tried calling but I got no answer. If you email me privately I can give it to you. Thanks for all your help. I paid him over $900 for the item 6 weeks ago and I am very upset at his handling of the matter. If you do get a hold of him, my Ebay ID is jcwarfield. He was supposed to send me the package tracking information (shipper and tracking number) a week ago and I've heard nothing. This after countless other delays. Let me know and thanks again!

Still waiting for a set of Blackfoot decals from April last year, he has phoned many times and seems a nice enough person he always says that he will send a set but none as yet have arrived.

We all have slow days with ebay as buyers or sellers and have our own horror stories of ebay purchases that weren't what we expected but so is the nature of the beast, but there seems to be a bit of a link going on here.

Well I see he has been suspended from Ebay. Unbelievable. He ripped me off for over $900.

Doh! that hurts. Maybe Darren (Dazmeister) could drop by his house to help *encourage* him to send your item.

Hello this is Andy ((Dulleekcomeath))

I have contacted Jonathon with the recent dispute.

I hope to hear back from him shortly.

However I may be for the short term suspended but I will like to point out the following:

For the remarks left by Bibbo

I clearly stated on my auction that the only part missing was the windscreen!, I clearly stated that. And for you to say you eventually got the item but was missing a part, you obviously do not read auctions carefully!, and when you did recieve it you were happy with your purchase.

Yes I did have to pay extra for your item as you could clearly see by the price I paid for P&P compared to the quote I gave you, if I hadn't paid the extra, you would of been stung for the extra charge! that would then give you good reason to complain!

As for the remarks from shodog

I do not ever remember paying you after 20 days!

I recall you quoting me $18.00 to ship a sheet of decals to the UK

When I questined this you gave me a cheaper estimate.

Remarks by AndyP

I will get in contact with you now I know your id a we did this deal outside ebay, I did however asked synchronrc for your address, but he never got back to me.

I do personally apologise to Jonathon for the distress of this incident, however, I would like to point out that I do not take peoples money and run, I will always follow through on everything and anything regardless of how long it can take, and will only finsh it when both buyer and seller are happy.

Hi Andy,

I'll just let you know why I said the things I did. I don't think it's appropriate to get into an argument, particularly in these forums, but for the sake of giving both sides I will do it.

Your auction stated the windscreen was missing. In the picture of the item on the auction there looked to be a windscreen tree sitting on top of the box. So, I assumed ( obviously wrongly ) that the windscreen had been removed from the tree and the rear window was still there attached to the tree. To many people, particularly in UK, a windscreen means a FRONT window. Obviously this is a matter that could be argued either way but because there was what I thought was a glass tree in the picture I thought you had meant that just the front screen was missing, but in fact the whole glass tree was missing.

I feel it would have been better to say in the item discription that the glass "TREE" was missing and then it would have been clearer. Also I believe you used a picture of a different body set that had the glass tree with it. Therefore this added to the confusion and could even be taken as misleading.

I realise that it was my fault for not checking properly before buying the item. This is why I did'nt mention it before and gave you a positve feedback on the deal.

With regard the extra shipping cost. If you had given the correct quote in the first place I would have paid that amount. You asked ( for whatever reason ) for the wrong amount. That was your problem, not mine. I paid what you asked for. So I do not believe I should be grateful just because you made a mistake. If I had been liable to extra costs when it was delivered then your feedback would have reflected this.

The shipping of the item did take a long time, a matter of weeks. It was also not even sent for a long time after my cheque had cleared. Then it was further delayed by a postal dispute and then it was returned to you. I am not saying these reasons are'nt true, this is why even in light of all these points I still gave a positive feedback and not even a neutral.

I believe the amount of negative experiences of other deals that have been outlined in this thread point to there being a problem with your dealings in general.

I therefore feel that all of my comments here and in the e-bay feedback I left for you are more than justilied.

Hi Andy, I compliment you by logging onto this board to make things straight. I don't wnat this to become a *******ing match but the information you stated in regards to our transaction is incorrect. shipping for your item was $4.85. I have it in my notes. Most likely I put your decal sheet inside a cardboard fed ex envelope then put that envelope inside a padded mailer. There is no possible way shipping for a decal sheet to cost more $7.00. I hope this clears up any misconceptions. welcome to the board Andy

You can think what you like, but you know aswell as I do that you have slagged me off to another person, saying that I was trying to sell you an item as I didn't want to pay ebay fees or commision!

The only reason I brought a car to your attention is because you had asked me to let you know 1st before putting it on ebay.

I kept to my word and contacted you, fair enough you didn't want it so you put me in touch with someone else who just wasted my time and he was kind enough to tell me what your opinion was about me when you have only dealt with me once!

I have spoken to and also met other ebayers in person and A few have made it clear to me you are a bit of a whinger, and at times very opinionated, I am sure you would not like me to give an opinion about you, if you had a dispute with someone!

OK, thats enough.

Been watching this thread for a while and thought it was resolving itself amicably guess I was wrong. If anyone wants to continue the argument do it via email.

I am sure I do not have to say this but we all make up our own minds about people we deal with, this boards helps a little, giving at its users at least a little history about its members. Some have been around a longs time overing help and advice other make just a couple of posts. Make your own mind up who you would sooner believe.
