I broke one of my basic rules today and sniped an auction. Much to my glee I might add![;)] Anyway, after the end of the auction I got an email from the former lead bidder with one word enclosed. The word was 'jerk'

*sigh*

Why can't people just accept that they lost??? I just thought this whole thing amusing after the long recent sniper threads.

Of course the upside for me is I won what appear to be 2 Grasshopper 1's or Hornets for $61US.

Cheers,

Ah yes, the ole sniper routine,

I personally do not use anything but the sniper bid. I dont use any special software or anything, just have 2 windows open- 1 with bid ready to go, one I could keep refreshing. I wait until it is about 10 seconds, then count down in my head, once I hit three, I hit the old enter button, and watch with nervousness. Completely legitimate. The chap you outbid, obviously was not willing to pay as much as you were, because if he was, when you placed your bid, you would have gotten the terrible ebay screen with red writing, letting you know " there was a problem with your bid amount" I am sure this has been stated in one form or another in the recent threads, but shooting your proverbial #### too soon, will just get people anxious, and then it becomes more of a game than a desire to have the goods they need at the lowest price possible. I remember one time, I could not be home for some motorcycle parts that I really wanted, so I went ahead and placed my maximum bid before I left, and when I got home, I lost the auction, and when I checked the bid history, I noticed that right after I placed my bid, some yahoo bid about 15 times, in increments of $2.00, until he passed my maximum bid, so now, Homey dont play that game. See ya1

all's fair in love and war and auctions.

the highest bidder won in this case, plain and simple.

And Scott, the method you use is the same one I use if going for something I really want or need. That said I still only bid as high as I want to pay, as we all have found out by now if we miss out on something, just wait a week, another one will come up!!

Actually if you receive anything remotely unwelcome in an email message - you should be forwarding it to his provider.

And since he sent it via the eBay 'ask member a question' feature this was sent to rules and safety too.

No, I do not play fair at all [8D]

i had a similar thing, except i got sniped instead.

this happened at least a year or so ago.

now i bidded on a item, and right at the lat second i got sniped, so i seen red, and in frustration, i sent him a meesage calling him a "w*nker". lol

few days l8r i recieved a email from ebay saying that this person had complained about me.

it's quite funny when i look back at it now.:)
