delta peak charger??

Im looking to buy a 'delta peak' charger which i will need now that I have joined an RC club, as I only ahve a basic 5hr charger which has been fine up until now. I found this 1 on offer -

is this the kind of thing i will need 2 charge my NiCads inbetween heats?

That would do the job nicely. Only thing I would check is that it does Ni-Mh batteries as well and to see whether it is 240v and/or 12v.

ok thanks! yeah it does nimh but i ahve nicads should i think about getting nimh? i hear theyre alot harder to maintain, but i wont go into that. how long does it take to charge using these kind of chargers?

You might as well keep the nicd until they need replacing or you need more capacity. If you are buying new, chances are they will be nimh so you might as well buy a compatable charger. How long the charge time is will depend on charge rate and battery capacity.

ok cheers, i have two tamiya 1400mah batterys. but might look to upgrade to a higher powerd one 2400 maybe

If you are racing the 1400s are going to be very limited, especially if you go for a faster motor. I would be looking at a 2400 at least just in case you decided to go for more power any time soon.
