Ive read a few posts where people say thank god the tyres were not glued to the wheels, why is this ?

surely you can just get a knife or summut to rip the old tyre off the wheel and fit the new tyre and glue it in place ???

or am i missing summut ?

How much are new road tyres to fit a grasshopper 2 super g wheel ?

can these be bought in my local model shop or are they hard to get, only one fitment etc or can any tyre fit these wheels ?

cheers all.....

The Super G wheel is 2.1".

Normally most new tyres are 2.2", but I think Pro-Line still make a road-tyre for 2.0", and it's better to fit a too small one, than to fit a too big one.

About the glueing. It's hard sometimes to get the tyres to come off. What you can do is put the wheel in the freezer, then when it's good and frozen it's easier to rip off the glue.

Some people boil their wheels to make the glue come loose, but I find that boiling will make the wheel damaged and out of shape.

Basicly what I do is I carefully twist and pull in many directions for a long time, and then if it hasn't come off then I just rip it off, if there's any rubber stuck glued into the groove of the wheel, then I just use a hobby knife or my dremel tool to remove it.

How much are tyres then in ££, or $$ LOL

do they come singly or as a pair, i`m not gonna fall off my chair now like i did for the price of my rear tyre for my gsxr 600 road bike, £168 !!!!! [:(]

Well seeing as these sort of tyres are still in production and the size is fairly common, they're probably around $10.

O.K, not saying anyones wrong but are my wheels 100% 2.1", front and rears ? what about width,, does this matter, or are all buggy tyres the same width ?

Umm ya you could replace the wheel if you wanted too but some ways that I found that work are:

Debonder(but you need alot of it)

Knife(but it can leave rubber on it and look REALLY bad)

You could try boiling it but that takes along time

another thing I have heard (but I havn't tried it yet) is to but the tire and wheel in the preheated to 205 degrees oven for like five minutes...

Tyres can be removed either by boiling them for 10 minutes, or I personally have a jar of cheap nail varnish remover. Its a diluted acetone. Leave the whells in it overnight, and the glue should start to break down. If the tyre is still attached the bond will have been attacked and the tyre usually comes off with a good tug. I usually leave them in there for a couple of days. Just make sure the container is airtight, or you will find it evaporates quickly.

Depending on the wheel either method can destroy the wheel of it is made of abs. Not sure about the Super G wheels though.
