I have both switch and credit card set up, with credit card as my 'primary' card. But when I try to pay for something I've won, it automatically has my switch card selected. If I go to "more funding options" to change it to creditcard it says the following:

"Funding Options

You may not use MasterCard/Eurocard to fund this payment. You may use a bank account, PayPal balance funds or a different type of card.

Fund this payment with your bank account - Confirm your bank account and you'll be able to use it to send payments instantly. Remember, payments funded by bank accounts are not subject to your Sending Limit."

Any ideas? (I don't want to pay by switch!)

I've paid with a CC on a standard account (although I had to upgrade recently to accept a CC payment), so I don't think it's that.

From the message it looks like the reason is not that it's a credit card, but a Mastercard/ Eurocard, perhaps the recipient doesn't accept those cards? I know Mastercard isn't as widely accepted as Visa.

Just wrote really long reply which got lost because when I clicked 'post new reply' it said I wasn't logged on - why not tell me first by not letting me click 'post new reply'? [:(!][:(!][:(!]

Anyway TW - didn't bother with paypal 'cos figured they'd be as irritaing as ebay to try and ask questions from (like being in an endless queue type thing [:I])

Everyone else I've used credit card (mastercard) zillions of times previously including this seller (tamiya-rc if you know him) so he definately uses them. Just have to pay by switch this time...[V]

It seems that PayPal has some issues with some MasterCards (or at least I get the feeling from seeing a warning about it in several Ebay auctions). I don't think you need an upgraded account to accept credit card payments. You only get no receive limit and probably lower fees.

Unfortunately since a month or so I also can't pay Jason RC with my Mastercard Paypal, which was working perfectly before with him, he even states it in his auctions, asked him why couple of times, but never got a reply [V] Anyone knows more [?]

DJ Theo, the same happend to me with seller Tamiya-rc, wanted to pay with my credit card but didn't work, as the money either had to be paid out of my balance which didn't have at the time or funded from my bank account , which is not possible for European members..........

From one of the emails I have recieved from Paypal about this

"MasterCard has strict rules governing who can process their cardholder

transactions. One of the criteria is that for businesses in your

country, card transactions must be handled by an in-country processor.

Since PayPal's processing vendor is not located in your country, we are

not able to meet this requirement, and as a result, we can no longer

accept MasterCard-funded PayPal transactions for you.

Clearly, MasterCard's rules and regulations for card processing were

not developed for global e-commerce. We are working diligently with

MasterCard to modify its rules and with our processor to identify

alternative cost-effective solutions so that we can resume offering

this payment option to your customers.

Hey All,

I just ran into this problem and I don't know how to resolve it. I don't have enough funds to pay Jason RC with another credit card or anything for that matter. The only card I have is a MasterCard and now I am stuck. What should I do?? Am I going to have to get a money order to pay him? Mastercard stinks as far as I am concerned! Please give me some advice!

Thanks,

Al

You don't have a bank account linked to PayPal? That's going to be the only way. PayPal won't let you fund your account with the CC, if that's what you're thinking.

Who here strongly dislikes Paypal? I DO! I keep saying it is a necessary evil. They have us by the sack!

Your right but so does ebay, you local electric company, your water company, your garbage company and pretty much any other entity that has a monopoly on a service you use.

Had the same problem trying to pay jr-rc and the only way i found to solve the problem was to use my girlfriend account that is based on VISA card.

Anyway that sucks!! [:(!]

The problem seems to be on JP/Cina based seller only.... [?]

Hey everyone,

Let me know if you think this will work: I have 2 PayPal accounts, if I was to transfer the funds from the Mastercard into my other PayPal account balance, would I be able to use that account to pay for the auction? This is the only logical thing I could come up with.
