Hi all,

Bought a nose cone +light parts for a monster beetle body yesterday, and when I went to pay with paypal, it said something about being a merchant user? It has worked in the past, although that was a month or so ago. Paypal simply isnt letting my credit card be recognised, as when I enter the details and press next is says "you cannot add credit cards"

Help Please!

James

Im in the UK btw.

I believe some sellers can opt not to accept credit cards, as the rates you get charged are pretty big, could be that. Unless you give specific information about the message it gives it's hard to say what the problem is....

The best thing to do is trawl the FAQ on Paypal.

Hi again,

Not sure if I can name the seller? but he Is very reputable and i've bought from him before. 98.9 positive feedback rating. What else could I use (money transfers etc) if a credit card will not be accepted, Im sure it said you could enter your bank details. Would this be for a money transfer?

Hi James,

There is an option on paypal uk to add funds from your bank account by means of a direct debt, I think it takes about 3-5 days by the look of it, but it means you can have a cash balance cleared ready for ebaying with.

You can add a bank account and do instant bank transfers or Echeques, I did this recently. It involves them placing 2 small deposits in your account, you tell them what they were and you can then send money direct from your account.

I had similar problems when i tried to re-subscribe to Tamiyaclub, Paypal would not let me pay by credit card, it said i needed to set up a direct debit with the suggestion that i would then be able to pay by credit card.

I went through the direct debit thing two small ammounts were deposited in the account which could then be used to "verify" my account.

Sorted? no! still would not let me pay by card and in the end i gave in and[:(!] paid direct from the bank account.

I personally dont find Paypal very user friendly but i am sure its just a case of me missing something[:I]

hi all,

just to say, all is well, turns out the seller didnt accept mastercard, so used parents visa instead. What i found odd was that the paypal logo had mastercard accepted here on it!
