I've just seen an auction for a NIB Madcap on Ebay and the seller is using photos I took when I was selling mine. What's worrying is the seller has private feedback and has changed his user ID several times, looks very dodgy to me. Do you think I should inform Ebay, it's a bit annoying that someone has nicked my photos, as he is clearly passing off my former Madcap as his own item?

It's definately a different dude. I sent him a mail and he refused to remove the photos. Don't know whether to bother chasing it up with Ebay TBH.

I have seen similar jerks with kits that I have sold on ebay...I always eamil the bidder and just give him a heads up...Most of the time I get a thank you from the guy bidding. Some of the guy in the club know I have done this in the past when a deal looks shaddy. You know like dealing with "Paranoidp****" if you have delt with him in the past..Jerry

You should report it to eBay as he may not even have a kit, you would help then avoiding someone being scammed.

Cheers

Ok, done. Ebay actually have a policy against copying pictures so I guess they will delete the auction, and also mailed the current bidder with a link to my auction, which ended lower and had the same picture :) Also reported him for asking 4% to cover Paypal fees for good measure ;)

I must admit that I have used other peoples pictures when selling on Ebay but the difference is that I've always asked the relevant party if I could beforehand. Also I have made it clear that the photo was not of the actual item and given credit in the sale blurb to the person supplying the pic.

I've got a decent camera now and don't need to use anybodyelse's copy.................Oh!! and I'm not a dodgy ebayer!!
