I have my mostly basher TL-01 getting a few hop-ups and as the existing dampers are the friction kit ones I would like to put real oil filled units on. I was looking at the TRF dampers and holy cow are they expensive!

So are the mini CVA's ok or ****?

I tried to find an old thread via search that covered most of this so I apologize if wasting bandwidth.

The best(and cheapest) way to go to oil dampers on the TL 01 is to use the super mini plastic oil shocks you get from Tamiya as a hopup. The same ones they use on the minis. The normal minis is to long (for lowering thre chassis) if you want to race the TL01. Also get the set of short Coloured springs from Tamiya to set up your car!!

Hope it helps

The 4-pack of TRF shockers might be same price as a TL01 kit

but they're definitely worth the dough. They're ultra-smooth,

easy to build, threaded body (no losing preload clips) units

- best shocks $$$ can buy.

TRF shocks can be rebuilt when worn, so they'll outlast your car.
