To anyone with experience with or that lives in Australia, could you please help me out with some information??? PLEASE!!!!!!!

I purchased a number of items from a Ebay user down under and they are stating that I must wait about 30 days for the items to show up. They keep pointing out the Aussie post is slow. Is this true? Or is my problem with the seller?

I know Merv recently bought some stuff from the other side of the world and got it in about a 1 week. This week is 4 weeks for me, still nothing.

If anyone could help me out on this, I would be forever indebted and would be willing to return the favor if at all possible.

Thanks very much and I hope everyone on TC has a great holiday season!

I bought a Parma Roadster from Australia..... Airmail Parcel Post took a little over 2 weeks but the seller was in Brisbane. Figure it might take a little longer if the seller is somewhere more remote.

Is there an Aussie Postal Services site you can look at?

Good luck

I've bought a few things from australia. Most were ok. The only one that was really slow (and charged much more than the advertised international shipping rate [:(!] ) was planethobbiesonline, bad enough to stop me buying any other items from them (even though they've had the odd thing I've wanted).

Cool Hands, The one that I am referring to was planehobbiesonline. How long did it take to get there? How much communication did you have with them? Any? Any information that you can provide would be appreciated.

This will be the last time I buy anything from them.

BTW, your RC10 wheel covers will go out tomorrow. Thanks!

If it's been sent surface mail (in a container over sea's) you should allow up to 8 weeks before panicking. Thats the longest i've had to wait and got into a right slagging match with the seller, before having to eat humble pie when it did turn up!

im in melbourne and i send to people all over the world on ebay ,, i always send priority airmail which costs an arm and a leg ,and sometimes its ben up to 6 weeks!!! ,, but ive sent economy airmail lto the uk and its been 4 days !!! , i think it depends entirely on

A: HOW MANY BEERS THE POSTMASTER HAS HAD THE DAY HE GETS YOUR PACKAGE TO SEND

B: HOW MANY KANGAROOS ARE BLOCKING THE ROAD

C: HOW LONG IT TAKES TO TRAIN THE EMU THATS DELIVERING IT

, SERIOUSLY THOUGH I WOULDNT BE WORRIED AUSSIE POST IS A WEIRD CRAZY SERVICE , BUT GOOD AND RELIABLE TOO , JUST BE PATIENT YOUR PACKAGES WILL SHOW , [:D][:D][:D][:D]

Sorry, I can't remember exactly how long it took to receive the items. I think it was about 4 wks. (Looking forward to the lovely RC10 rims! They will go on the NIB when I build it :) )

Ahh yes, planethobbiesonline.... do a search through the older forums.... could also look at netsell01 and hobbie_discounters on eBay.

I have always got my stuff from this seller, but I have heard heaps of reports just in Australia of people getting stuff slow, or not at all, and really slow communications. Admittedly they do list their postage costs on their auctions, but they ALWAYS charge heaps.

Australia Post postage costs can be found at www.australiapost.com.au , they are pretty accurate too.

I have posted stuff via Aus Post all over the world, and have had very few proiblems.... apart from the one I am having right now.. :-(

I too am in Melbourne. Never had a problem with Aussie post. Some things come a bit slower than others, but I think if you read planethobbiesonline's feedback, you'll find a trail of poor shipping, but it seems it does eventually turn up. I have actually had more of a problem previously with the USPS in 'the states'.

Cheers,

Drew.
