It was a local shipment! We both live in the United States. He lives in Colorado and I live in Pennsylvania! No overseas shipping involved!! So, actually $15 is a bit expensive for using the lowest form of shipping from USPS!

Hey Everyone,

I filed my claim with PayPal and the seller refunded my money 100%. He didn't seem too happy about it though! But I came to the conclusion that he was the one at fault. He used a differnt method of shipping than what his auction stated and he didn't inform me that he was going to do this. He also failed to get a tracking and confirmation number. I let him know that confirmation numbers are there to protect him and that he should look out for himself and always get one! So, I am happy to be refunded but I am sad that a vintage Tamiya kit is lost in limbo somewhere and may never be seen again. [:(] Thanks to everyone for giving me advice on this matter!

It took more than 8 weeks for my parcel to travel from US to UK by airmail.

I think it had been held up in customs. I had to pay an additional £48 before Parcelforce would hand it over to me. Even though it was marked as a gift with a low value - does anyone know how they calculate the customs fees??
