I recently purchased a Thunder Dragon kit from seller tamiya-rc(auction # 5961638799)and what I received did not match the auction pics which showed a good condition blister pack with a white motor cover, instead I received a completely broken open blister pack with a different motor (black end). He just declined any responsability but offered to refund purchase price plus not even one third of what it would cost me to ship it back to Japan and only on receipt of package "after inspection". He is not responding anymore to my various emails. I feel totally fooled by this seller and I will leave negative feedback.

If it clearly does not match the pictures in the auction I would report him to both ebay and paypal and you might get your money back.

I will definatly do that. I guess that I've been lucky with ebay transactions prior to this, this being the first time I've really been burned.

I just tried to file a claim trhough paypal but I am only entitled to a refund that does not include shipping back of the item. I guess this is better than nothing but it still will live me out of pocket of about uS$ 35.00 for something that was falsely advertised. Leaving Negative.

People be aware of this seller

MMMmm I have used this seller quite a few times and never had any problems, I do agree you should get a full refund or a least a decent discount to smooth things over, are you re-selling the kit?

I used this seller once before myself and everything went ok. But he does have quite a few negatives on his record. he threatened me to give retaliation negative if I do so. I contacted ebay customer support and give all the details and email excange, I am still waiting for an answer. It looks to me that he thinks I will let it go eventually. I wont't do so. I am not worried about the broken blister too much, What makes me angry is that he replaced the motor on auction pics with a non original one, so even if I decide to build the kit, It will not be 100% original. I know that this kit is not that special, but to me it holds sentimental value. If someone out there has a Thunder Dragon kit and is not too worried about keeping it 100% original and perfect we can swap blister pack plus cash adjustement or I can swap it with a similar kit plus cash adj. and buy another one when the occasion comes up.

I would not count on ebay helping alot , when it comes to big sellers they dont say alot to them , thats where all there income comes from [:(]

I also think you may only get your paypal money back if it was not delivered.

Been there still have the burn marks [V]

I would imagine that as taffer says he has one with each motor end, the seller simply used a previous picture that he's used to sell the kit you received. Admittedly he should use pictures of the actual kit being sold, but he sells so many I doubt if he always does so, and that's what got you here.

Maybe you could give him the chance to offer you a small refund rather than the hassle of sending the entire kit back for a refund? He may be more aminable to that.

Never had a problem with Tamiya RC. Good price, fast shipping. Not the best communicator but a good seller in my past experience, and I've bought a bit of stuff from his store over time....your not being a bit picky? I generally build my NIB kits.

I've dealt with this seller before and the deal was sweet. It is probably true that he's used a historic pic from a previous sale.

I suppose where you go from here depends on why you bought the thing. I would suggest that if you wanted a 'mint boxed' unbuilt example to add to your collection then you probably could have done better by waiting for a kit with a box in nicer condition. (I should mention that I do not know how rare this kit is[:I])

On the other hand if you bought it to get the mint blister pack pictured to replace a damaged one in another kit then I can see why you're upset. Considering the high uK airmail shipping costs incurred by sending it back I reckon you should explain your point and negotiate a settlement amicably with the seller.

If you bought it to build, then build it and have some fun.

Hope it turns out right for you.
