well why cant i get mine to set in the middle ?

No matter where i put the arm on the servo the speed controller always needs me to adjust the handset adjuster to get it all right.

at the moment the adjuster is all the way to the bottom.

why wont it cenrtalise ?

cheers.....

Hi make sure you have your transmitter on, and set your trim to the middle (the servo will probably then move out of its normal position) but then turn all power off, re-position the servo bit (excuse the poor language!) onto the servo so that it is in your required position for 'normal' and then turn it all back on and it should be set up right.

yeah, thats what i have been doing.

the reason i ask is this, when i do the above, it all lines up, BUT, as soon as i move the joystick either way, the speed controller DOES NOT return to the centralised postion, it is half on, so the car keeps going, i need to jerk the joystick back and this then brings the speed controller lined up.

if i set the adjsuter to full on then this seems to bring the speed controller back to its off postion oncei have moved the joystick.

get me ?

i have taken the speed controller apart, oiled it and re-assembled and still the same, it keeps "sticking".

your talking about a standard servo operated msc right[?]

well the trick to get these right is not the length or the rod to the controller or the trim setting - its all in where the servo is in relation to the speed controler. i had the same problem with my pumpkin, all i did was move the servo slightly further away from the msc, and conected it all back up again and it was fine. the servo mounting points should allow you to move the servo around a little.

if you took the msc apart make sure the flat metal part that is rectangular/has a hole in the centre/and a part that pokes down at each corner (thats the only way i could describe it[:I]) is slightly bent downwards accross the centre so it acts like a spring - its this that keeps the controller level and should stop it from sticking!

Sounds like the holes where the Z-bend rod in the black oval part

and in your servo horn have just gotten sloppy thru wear.

Very common symptom.

Some ppl solve it by replacing that Z-bend rod with a threaded rod

and 2 ball-cups with ball ends on the servo & MSC, like the ones

on your steering.

This sloppiness is there even from new I think. The (shelfer) TL01

does the same thing even when everything's brand new & unused.
