hope the clod gets some proper box art rather just a photo that seems to be the current trend with Tamiya stuff. Always saw some of the paintings on the boxes as collectable in their own right. Really great illustration.

From where do you base that? [?] I thought the Neo Shot was going to be a mid-class racer with belt-drive while this one is an entry kit, RTR with friction shocks? [?]

Still looks nice [

The key word was "potentiality" I never run cars stright from the box, thats not what I refering to. Did you think the Neo Shot was going to be any kind of serious contender ? The DT-02 is a TB-02, plus I prefer shaft drive, and that car will make an awesome modified off road machine, the body is also much better. Just wait and see.

"Gravel Hound"!

Tamiya continues with those weird animal names, continuing with the Hornet, Fox, Grashopper, Frog and Falcon tradition.

Yet, do you see any canine resemblance here?

The realeases look pedestrian. Only the Super Clod intrigues me a little.

The next animal will be the Killer Emu. Rear wheel drive buggy. And the next monster truck will be the Super Slug. That one will be the new monster beetle in disguise. A new FF03 will be out also. That one is gonna be called Mega Moth.[:o)]

I thought you and some other TC members were saying how good the Neo Shot will be [?] If the DT-02 is a TB-02 (is it written somewhere in the site?[?]), I agree, it will be a nicer off roader and I also preffer shaft drive and the body [8D]

Cheers

I did get exicted about the Neoshot, true. But what I am saying is this is a better car in the end, for the reasons stated, and I'm glad you agree, shaft is best and that body is better and resembles the Top Force somewhat. If DT02 does not = TB02 then I'll sell my Top Force Collection [;)]

Tamiya got into a lot of headaches when licencing the original E36 sedan and I hear BMW asked an exhorbitant sum for the rights etc etc. That could be why they've cooled on the propellor brand.

Funny-******s happening in Ferrari licencing too, when Mattel took over the whole lot but at least there Barbie came to their senses.

then Tamiya should try AC Schnitzer S3 which a tunned M3 by AC Schnitzer I'm sure licensing is not as complex as from BMW.

I m happy to see tamiya is coming back with some nice things.

I only hope they ll make a nice dakar Nissan, but pick up version, not the one's from Mc Ray. It would be very nice to see one of those on a crosscountry chassis.

What about a 2003 vw buggy if they can t make a schlesser one?

A dakar pro truck?

A dakar truck?

True. Those tyres where used in the Top force years before the Baja King, Tamiya UK.

I meant the overall aspect of the Gravel Hound looks more "plasticky" than something serious: friction schoks, little suspension travel in the front end, RTR and type 540 motor.

The body resembles the block type shells of the last buggys (Baja King and Champ) theyéve released. The Top Force is much more stylized.

Can you still buy Pajero's then? Where? I have never actually seen one for sale brand new, I thought Tamiya weren't making them anymore...

From the pick it does look like the XC a Polycarbonate shell (look how thin the plastic inside the arches is)

One question... why does it say "on road car" at the top of the page.... http://www.tamiyausa.com/images/product/30...r_1.jpg[/img][/

****... Looks like i'm gonna have to buy an XC as well as a TB02 now then... [;)]

Sigh...

My wallet burns...

Does anyone know when this will be released?

Interestingly in the past 3-4 years most released Tamiyas didnt appeal to me and now they are bombing one after the other giving me a hard time which to choose, TLT, Carrera TB02, WW2 Metallic, Super Clod, Touareg, Gravel Hound (if it has a TB02 based chassis), I want them all but have no space [:(], I hate them [}:)]

Its great to see an all new XC car. However, that Touareg is one of the ugliest RC bodies I have ever seen. Looks like something you'd find on a Traxxas.

I also hope they don't jack the price way up due to the inclusion of that ESC.
