How much a difference would this aluminium steering set make to my handling? I have problems with my wheels coming out of alignment after a slight crash [8)] and so i have to alter the trim on my transmitter all the way to one side, but sometimes even this doesn't get it back going in a straight line.

Saw this pic on someone else's TT01 who has the racing steering set-

Have you actually worked out what's causing the steering to go off-centre?

The steering parts look pretty, but I doubt they'll solve the problem.

I don't own a TT-01, but I can make an educated guess at what the problems are.

Most likely in my opinion is a badly fitting servo arm/servo saver, that's skipping around the servo gear when you crash. Solution would be to replace it, if it's worn, or to upgrade from the standard Tamiya part to a more substantial piece.

Other possibilities are... binding in the steering system (check it moves freely with the servo disconnected), faulty servo (damaged gears perhaps, or damaged motor, check that it moves smoothly from lock to lock without juddering, also check you can't move the servo arm by hand when the servop is powered up), or even damage to the steering parts (on the M-03 for example, the plastic steering arms will actually bend out of shape when you crash, pushing the tracking out, so check for bends or cracks in the parts).

Those alloy parts will help if the problem is damaged or binding servo cranks, they won't solve any of the other faults though.

Hi I've checked the servo and its fine, there's no problems with it, and also none of the steering parts are bent/damaged. i think its just because where the steering arms join to one another, there is a lot of free movement and so the wheels have a tendancy to go slighlty one way or the other!
