If you want a good vintage engine I would recomend the Le Mans 240 S which offers excellent output and torque while maintaineing an acceptable level of autonomy. The cheaper 240 ST is also Ok but this is a stock motor (no ball bearings and fixed timing).

I do not have any particular motor in mind but any 17 to 21 turn modified motor would do. I would personnally recomend a 21 turn engine as these are plenty of torque very gentle on the electric and are by far the most efficient motors (output / consumption ratio).

Im currently running a 240st in my runner progress. It sounds slower than my new competition stock motors, but makes that progress kick up huge rooster tails and scamper around like a mad terrier. I wouldnt want to put much more than that in that particular old buggy. What buggy is it for? I would suggest, the older it is, the less motor it should get. Newer classics like top force and lazer zxr can handle any motor you dare to istall. Older cars like progress, gallop, coyote, have much less durable drive trains and cannot cope with big power. Hirobo belt drive buggies are also better off with softer motors.
