How many old makes do you guys i know of? Apart from the modern ones, when i started collecting i only knew of Tamiya and Kyosho. I had a box of stuff all new from AYK (which i had never heard of). They were all for a car that had a gold/brass color two part buggy chassis. Has anybody got a picture of it if they know the one i mean as i would like to see it. I had about half the car new and sold it and was wondering what i have lost. Any help would be appreciated

Izumi

Sankyo

Bunken

Aoshima

Spital

Jerobee

Eidai

Nakamura

Hinode

Ishima

Not to mention Matsu****a!!!!!!!!

Matsu****a is not an uncommon Japanese name, but I dont know if the rc manufacturer was related to the big conglomerate

I currently have an Izumi Mach Line, unbuilt but the box is fairly knocked around.

A couple of more names:

Academy

Eagle Racing (I have a carton that says they were the 1991 & 1993 on road national (i assume Japan) champions?)

Posted

Another one is CEN (www.cenracing.com)

I have one of their GX1-EP cars - top quality unit and great chassis design but sadly the prepainted body bites!

matsu****a, is that:

m a t s u ?

(Had to do spaces before it got censored [;)] LMAO )

Hey, it's a Tamiya forum, maybe all evil non tamiya RC companies should get censored... LOL [:o)] Everything non Tamiya will be banned! [:P] (please do not take this seriously! lol)id="size1">

Hey, nobody mentioned Corrally yet! They have a model called the CCT, it's very cheapish pan car, you see a lot of those crapy things at the club near me. I'm not a member yet because many members drive like idiots and I don't want my car wrecked...[:o] They also race gas powered Serpent Vectors all the time, which they tend to run between all the other (electric) cars because they are impatient (and foolish). They also look down on Tamiya. [:(!] Didn't they learn since Tamiya won the World Championship on electric cars? [:o]

To get back to the subject, Corrally also has a C4 (and a newer one: the C4.1). It's totally faked from the TRF414 / TA04 I think it's Dutch, like Serpent. X-Ray is Dutch as well and also has a fake TA04. (I personally think X-Ray is the same company as Serpent only not gas powered)

And another one to the list we probably know as well as we know Tamiya or Kyosho: HPI. It surprised me none of you mentioned this one. And of course there are brands like Nikko and Tyco, but let's not mention those... [:)]

This means I added 3 more:

Corrally

X-Ray

HPI

[:D]

Sjoerd [8D]

(Lets mention Tamiya twice, it's the nicest brand! [:D] LOL)

Its m a t s u s h i t a, the company group including Panasonic and Technics. Serpent and Corally are very old established RC companies, maybe nobody mentioned HPI as the topic started about old companies.

Cheers

Well, both names sound Japanese fo me. [:D] LOL (Never heard of both of them... [;)])

I noticed many swearing is filtered out, for obvious reasons of course. [:I] Funny to see that this company name got filtered partially as well. [:D]

Another one to the list:

Bolink (I hear they make dragstars and stuff [8D] Sounds cool)

Sjoerd

(OK darryn, I edited my post myself again! [:)])

Here is a few more for yah....

COX (rebadged Early Kyosho buggies+some original cars?)

Mugen (Bulldog,Manx)

Aristocraft Hitec (Kangaroo,Dolphin,Wilderbeast)

Royal (Ripper,Crusher)

Playtron (Doberman,Lynx)

Yankee (Electra)

World Engines (Rockbuster)

Varicom (Panda,Big Grizzly,Manx??)

Futaba (FX-10)

Monster? (not to sure of this one, I have an advert for this car?)

Sinyih (Cowboy, plus some other cars I cant remember the names of)

there are a few more obsure brands I have known about before that I cant name off the top of my head at this time, needless to say I have quite a few vehicals from these "other" brands in my collection and I activly seek them out, and would gladly get more ofe them should the offer present itself [:)]

You all forgot to mention the Playtron (japan).

Personally i know only one car produced by Playtron and was a gas powered buggy with a old style mercedes body or a tubular frame (dune buggy style).

I know about that because i had one back in 83, i found also one last week on ebay that was selled by an american guy.

I can't post pics but i have some if someone is intrested just email me.

I'm also intrested in more pics and infos (virtually impossible to find, at least 4 me....), please email me if u have something about it.

Bye

Academy Minicraft (Roadrunner II - reworked World engines Rockbuster)

Protech (Booster - like the Traxxas Bandit only even cheaper looking)

"Tenth Technology" or TTech. You all must remember the totally radical predator cars? Anyone got a MK1 predator? They must be pretty rare and I imagine will be worth a bit one day. They certainly were a sight to behold with their carbon bathtub and rocker arm suspension. So beautiful and so fragile. I think the company has gone bust now. Anyone know anything?

What about Micro-Racing ?

By the way if you've got one ... I almost won one on the bay, actually I did win it but the seller never wanted to close the deal.
