Anybody know anything about the cars from this maker? I saw a scumacher Ford sierra the other day, are they anygood/valuable?

Bibbo,

Schumacher are pretty good quality cars. The Sierra, if I remember correctly, is a Sapphire Cosworth 4WD model. It comes on what I think is a modified Cat/Cat2000 4WD chassis. I like them, I have a few Schumachers in my collection. Only 2WD's though....

Got LOTS of parts though... lol...

Would a NIB sierra be worth much and is it a nice car when built? Also do you know when it came out?

Cheers for the advice

From what I saw in the mags at the time, the Schuey looked like a nice car. When I bought my Nitro 10, the Cossie 4x4 was advertised on the manual, so I guess they're about the same vintage. That would put it somewhere in the region of 1990-1993.

What's it worth NIB? The eternal question... as cheap as possible to the buyer, as much as possible to the seller. Not much help, am I???

I would check exactly what car is under the Sierra body. Schumacher used a modified old Bosscat chassis as a 4wd version, but they also used an original Cougar Club 10 chassis, and a really basic chassis with no suspension, similar to a Bolink Rebel. None of the chassis were cutting edge, it was a good way for Schumacher to continue to sell chassis that had been superseded. The first cars were produced around 1990, but the simpler cars were still being sold a couple of years ago. Even the 4wd ones were cheaper versions of the buggies they were based on.

I would not think the kit would be worth that much, it will have more value if it is an original one, but the later kits were available for even less money than the cheapest Tamiya. Check what it is first, if it is the 4wd version dump the Sierra body, fit a buggy shell and take it off road.
