Hi,

I need a new or used manual for my Nikko Dandy Dash.

This can be the original one or a copy.

I'm also looking for a new driver tree for this model.

Would be great if anybody out here has one of these items!

Thanks,

Andreas

Where the HECK did you get a Dandy Dash from!!!

I only just found out about the Dash and its Hopped up brother the Super Sprint last week when I borrowed my Friends 1991 NIKKO catalog and in it were these two really cool looking buggies.

Im after a Sprint myself but I'll settle for a Dash as a substitute anyday.

Is it in your showroom, have you got any pics of it?

Do you think the Dash looks a bit like the Kyosho Rocky with that Yellow body with Blue decals?

Well, it's one of these ebay stories...

Someone offered a NIKKO R/C buggy on the german eBay site and following the description I found out that it is a Dandy Dash wich I was looking for a couple of years. The auction itself had no picture so I sent the guy a mail asking for one. But I got no response untill two days after the auction was gone. By the way, I didn't bit because I wasn't really sure what the condition of the car was like. In the description it was said like NIB, uncuted body, car itself assembled etc. and so the entry price was set to 75Euros.

Jepp, no one bit for the car, I forgot about it and... two days later I got a mail from this guy offering me the car for... 65Euros! :))

Needless to say that I didn't hesitate and when the car arrived it was PERFECT! It's the RTR-Version of the car, so the chassis is re-assembled, only the body needs trimming and painting. Very cool, it was absolutly unused like NIB. Only on the driver tree the steering-wheel is missing and the manual, of course. I mailed the guy about this and he replied that he will send me the parts when he finds them.

Well, he cleaning up the attic so I hope he will find them.

About the car itself, they're pretty rare here in Germany, I never ever saw one in the time they were popular. I only know about them because once (somewhere in '88) I bought the 1/32 4WD-version of this model and later there was an article in on of the german R/C mags (must be the AMT).

All in all I can't believe that I finally found one in perfect condition to a perfect price. Sometimes someone has all the luck!

Or as a german saying says: Mehr Glück als eine Sau Titten!

Ähem... :))

Your soooo lucky :)

I got to admit I'm very envious of you, how long before you post pictures of it in your showroom? I do have some scanned pictures taken from the 1991 catalog of the car but they are not very detailed, if you could take a few detailed pitures of the car and put them in your showroom I would really appreciate that :)

I'll add some pictures in the near future to my showroom. In the moment it shows only the cars of my 'active' time, none of my 'collector' business [:)] So it's a lot of work to scan them all (and I'm sooo lazy) but it's time to do the work!

I'll let you know when the pictures are there!

A few weeks ago, there had been a whole bunch of NIB dandy dash on ebay. Selling for less than 100.00 USD. Probably still at least 1 right now. Is this a competition buggy, or an entry level? If its great, then I may pick 1 up as well.

It's a semi-model, made for the pure beginners and the intermediate racers. The design is very advanced for it's class. It has belt-driven 4WD, four independent suspension arms supported by four oilfilled shocks, a ackerman steering system and a stiff ABS-chassis with easy access to the R/C components. This all is covered by a nice looking Lexan body. All in all you can call it a typical 'Volkswagen'. Nothing exciting but well made and therefor moneyworth. Or in other words: a bulletproof car!

Sad it never made it in the TopTen of R/C racing. Maybe it got handycapped by it's brand. Nikko still stands for R/C toys made for children...[:(]

I searched USA ebay and found nothing. Im quite sure they were selling for very little just a short while ago. If your interested, you may be able to find a NIB model with instructions and all. I think they were selling as partially rtr with nikko brand rc equipment included in the box. A few weeks ago I also found a Nikko perfection, I think it was. This was a carbon chassis, ball diffs, fully hopped up 4wd racing buggy made by nikko. Asking price was 200.oo, and it shipped from somewhere in the far east, so was a bit more than I would pay for it. Was this a hopped up version of dandy dash?

As far as I know NIKKO did two versions of the DD. One release as KIT version, the other one as RTR including a Futaba R/C set (the Attack with the chromed housing). Don't know if they did a 'hop-up' version of the car but it seems so. See WLDNAS post... he mentioned a SuperSprint. Maybe he can post some pics of this car?

What I found on the net were some pics of a NIKKO car called BRAT. I think I found them on the http://rc-off.com/ Not sure, it's some time ago...

Does anybody know something about this car? On the pictures you can see some decals saying PROJECT BRAT. Is the car just a prototype that never made it into production?

When searching ebay, I happened across a 4wd buggy called nikko perfection, I think. Im not sure, but that seems like the name. This was a 4wd, carbon chassis, belt drive, ball diffs, aluminum shock, in kit form. The seller was from the far east, and so shipping was high, also, starting bid was 200.00, so it seemed high, and I passed on it. Possibly a tomyintruder es equivelent from nikko? Pics were not good, details were sketchy, and of course, the item ended with no bids, and was not relisted as far as I can tell. So, I think perfection was a very high end nikko competition 4wd buggy. I find all kinds of strange stuff on ebay.

GOOD NEWS!! [:D]

I've got got myself a Dandy Dash in good condition complete with Radio, Box and Manuals.

so Mr PandorasKiste I would gladly sort you out some form of copied manual set if you'd like [;)]

now there are two manual to the kit (3 if you include the one for the original NIKKO radio gear) there is the Main manual and a seperate parts list, as my kit is the pre-assembled version you would thing that the manual would only cover the basic final assembly, and for the first part of the manual is does, but the other half is taken up with the full assembly instructions and it pretty much leaves off where the ARTR instruction begin (IE fitting the radio gear)

the Parts list is basically an expanded parts list like the back of a Tamiya Manual where it has detailed illustrations of all the parts trees and bags and their relavent parts numbers numbers.

both these Manuals are very detailed and have a great number of pages (32 for the Main Manual) so if you war looking for me to Scan in the manual and Email it to you then that would take ages, both to scan and then trasnfer the files by Email, personally I would prefer to Photo-Copy the whole thing (with double sided pages :) and post the copied manuals to you, its less hassel in the long run and you would get a much better quality copy.

the choise is upto you, let me know whats best for you, if you still need a manual fot your Dash that is [;)]
