HI, Im a big fan of the WRC and would like to get a RS4 Rally because i hear of the Great reputation HPI has. Anyone know if its good??

Also, i would also like to get an HPI Micro because of its size and its realistic appearances with its extra features available such as aftermarket exhaust are really attractive. Anyone else know if its worth it???

Thnx, any output is really appreciated.

Hpi rally are really excellent cars. For the price they come with full ball bearings, and a superb platform. No motor or speed control included though. Hpi micro are a different story. Only suitable for running on very very smoothe surfaces. Hpi makes great products. If you have a surface to run the micro on, it will be a great car.

Which one would you prefer??? I really like both of them. I currently have a TL-01 with a Mitsubishi Lancer evo 4 Monte Carlo body shell with Futaba servos and controller and i am currently putting it back together since i took it apart for maintainance over the winter. I have no hop-ups yet but i am currently designing a shell that will cover my chassis that will keep the dirt out when i go driving in the dirt. I am also creating wheel wells which have been proven xtremely useful when my friend and I tested it on his TL-01. Very little water made it into his body. The type of materials i am using for my shell are nothin more than those clear sheets of plastic paper which are used for overhead projectors.

Does anyone know any other shells or tubs that are out there for the TL-01 unless mine fails? Does anyone know of any plans tamiya might have for a shell for a TL-01??? Is there any way for me to contact them to produce a product like this???

Any output is really appreciated.

Between the rally and the micro, I would deffinately go for the rally. As for making a tub, it sounds like you are on the right track. I know some of the hobby plastics can be heated to make forms. Butyrate, or clear styrene is a common hobby plastic, and is used for making clear bubble canopies for model airplanes. It is heated, and pulled over a wood plug to make the shape. If you come up with a real nice bellypan with wheel wells and such,, make a bunch,, and sell them! I think something lke that would be a great seller. Of course,, it needs a mating top half too, for water protection. This is what makes the hpi rally so fun. Its pretty well sealed, not waterproof, but deffinately splash resistant, and debris resistant. As for contacting tamiya, good luck. I tried to get replacement parts for an incomplete tb01 carbon chassis kit, by emailing the customer service on the Tamiya site. Never got any kind of response what so ever.
