yeah i've got one.....great car, I used to race it off-road a few years back. one of the best things about it was the suspension, handled the bumps great! generally a very tough, strong car however the camber links at the back did break quite often.

what do you want to know about setting it up??

hi

what turn motor did you use? and with what pinion gear? I won mine from ebay fully made, but in great condition, i not sure what date it was made or how long since it was last used, are there key parts the will need greasing? or the diff need checking? This might be hard as some of the alan key screws are worn and the keys slip? I tightened the diff like it suggests in the manual, and have given it a quick spin, ****! is it fast, much faster than my Astute (but i was using a different motor, so not really a fair test) It seemed to run smoothly, making a slight clicking noise when accelerating (the hydradrive?). The motor got quite hot after only a minute or two, so i might use a smaller pinion.

I generally ran a 12 x 2 modified which made things interesting!!! I think for a 5 minute race off-road we used 16 - 17 tooth pinions, the diff is pretty bomb proof.....losi make great, smooth diffs. I don't think it should be making a clicking noise when accelerating, the hydradrive is a bit like a turbine with vanes that transmit drive through very thick, viscous oilly stuff. there are no touching internal components that would click??!!!

what motor / gearing are you using??

hi

yes i was uncertain about the clicking, though as i said i have only used it once, i going to drive it again today. I will tell you more about the clicking then. Expect another reply soon

Thanks

hi

no idea what that clicking was, cause it gone now. I drove it today on grass with dew on it: going forward easy, turning without spinning hard, great fun! However half way through a battery charge the right rear wheel totally locked: it wouldn't move with the motor or my hand, so i quickly stopped it. I couldn't see anything like a stick blocking the wheel, so it loosened the wheel nut to take the wheel off and it moved freely again. Now i have worked out what happened: When i 1st got the car i took the left rear wheel off. The pin that goes throught the rear axles and stops the wheels from spinning freely (manual page 14, part 63) was missing, and i didn't look in the manual at the time so thought the method Losi used for stopping the rear wheels from spinning freely was to tighten the wheel nut really tight and use friction. So i tightened the right rear nut a lot. [:I]

This caused the spacer on the right wheel (part 62) to push against the bearing (59) and it has shreaded the ball bearing housing [:(!] luckily the ball bearing still works, and i all i now need is the missing left rear pin. Considering the wasted energy in friction my car had, i should be alot faster now. [:D]

Ok, sorry to bore you.
